How do I get tax the Army took from severance pay back in my return if they only put the total severance pay in box 1 but did not include the taxed amount on the W2?

Box 1 of the W2 includes my severance pay, but the boxes showing fed and stat tax only include the tax from my regular paychecks and not the amount they took out of my severance pay check. How do I get that tax $ back/report that properly?

If your W-2 is incorrect, and it sounds like it is, then you must contact them to have them issue a corrected W-2 to reflect the tax withheld on all the income in Box 1.
