How do I get earned income credit if I'm military and stationed overseas?

Under special rules for the Earned Income Tax Credit, active duty military stationed overseas are considered to live in the US.  Here is link with more information.  In TurboTax be sure to indicate that you are active duty military and your state of residence on 12/31/2019 is your home of record. 

 

1.  Click "My Info" on the left hand menu

2.  Click Edit on righ hand side of your name

3.  Answer "yes" to the military question

4.  Indicate your home of record as your resident state

5.  Continue

6.  Scroll down to "other state income"  

7.  Edit

8.  Indicate "Foreign" and review the list of income choices

9.  Select "yes" or "no" as applicable
