Can't file return, it keeps asking for combat areas and dates served. I am not or have ever been active duty. Already said "Not in the military" in my info.

Already looked at every page, and I see nothing that I might have accidently said I was active duty.

Re-visit My Info.   Click edit by your name and go through the screens.   The question about being active duty military will be on the screens in that section.

If going to the "My Info" section doesn't help then please check your W-2 entry if there is accidentally a code Q for combat pay in box 12:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “W-2”
  2. Click on “Jump to W-2” and you should see the “Here's your W-2 info” screen
  3. Click "Review" and check box 12.
