After inputing my data into TurboTax Business for my Sub - S corp, none of the K-1's have a form 7203 included when I try to print file.   I cant seem to find the form either when looking at "Forms" when I select the Forms Icon.  How do I get the Form 7203 for my K-1 Shareholders are asking for them?

Thank you for any help here

Form 7203 is a form filed with a personal tax return - Form 1040.  It is not an S-Corp form and you won't find it the Business program.  S corporation shareholders use Form 7203 to figure the potential limitations of their share of the S corporation’s deductions, credits, and other items that can be deducted on their individual returns.  Shareholders are responsible for tracking their own basis.  I recommend preparing a 7203 each year, even if not required so that the information transfers each year.

If the S-Corp tracks shareholders' debt basis and includes it with the K-1, then the shareholders should have the information they need to prepare Form 7203.

Form 7203 is filed by S corporation shareholders who:

  • Are claiming a deduction for their share of an aggregate loss from an S corporation (including an aggregate loss not allowed last year because of basis limitations),
  • Received a non-dividend distribution from an S corporation,
  • Disposed of stock in an S corporation (whether or not gain is recognized), or
  • Received a loan repayment from an S corporation.
