Using short form

If the software tells me to use my standard deduction do I need to fill out all the forms?

There is no 1040 short form. There is no 1040EZ this year. 

If you use the standard deduction, you will not use Schedule A.

I am using turbo tax deluxe but will not have enought deductions on schedule A.  will the program direct me to a short form 1040?

There is no longer a "short form" Form 1040EZ or Form 1040A.  There is only a Form 1040.
