Unsuccessful imports from both Schwab and Fidelity

I'm running TurboTax Premier 2024 (freshly updated to 024.000.0308 on a Windows 11 machine.

I've attempted to import financial forms from Schwab and Fidelity.  In both cases I get the following error.

TurboTax import error.jpg

I'm reasonably certain that the data is available because I have downloaded pdf versions of the forms.

I'm at a loss about what to try.

Thanks in advance!

I was searching through similar posts and saw a response that suggested turning off browser security SW.  I gave it a try and that worked.  I was able to download all of the data that I needed.

Thanks for reading.

The version number was deleted.  🙄  Here is a image showing it.

I was able to successfully download Fidelity information to (Windows) desktop TurboTax:

1. Switched my default browser to Microsoft Edge

2. Removed (not just disabled) ad blocker and other privacy extensions

The download into desktop TurboTax was successful. Hope this helps somebody.

Import from Fidelity works but TT H&B hangs when the screen says These documents are ready for import, clicking on import results in changes to top bar State tax owed but Federal remains at $0.

The data seems to import from Fidelity but TT seems to be choking on it.

Also switched default browser from Firefox to Edge.  Download data again was ok, but TT still hung with error message.  There's something in the Fidelity data that TT is not able to digest.

Remember that you can make one entry for the totals of your 1099-DIV/INT's.

For 1099-B, here's How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions.

Yes, I did the manual summary entry instead since it was my fallback alternative.  I will troubleshoot with Fidelity EC Support later after filing an extension.  I chatted with Fidelity again tonight as I spotted in the PDF version of my 1099 that it was a corrected form.  There is a possibility that the symbol used to mark the correction may have been included in the data stream and caused TT to crash when trying to process it.  It is consistent with the state tax owed correctly showing in the upper banner and the Federal stuck at $0 before it eventually would crash and offer error reporting to Turbotax/Intuit.  This is a hypothesis at this point, but the Fidelity rep agreed it is possible.

Vanguard and Janus Henderson imports went smoothly.  I wonder if every financial institution has their own data format for importing, or if they all follow a standardized format?

That's a good question, but outside my sphere of knowledge!  After you file, here's how you could propose that question...

"We at Intuit TurboTax want our users to be completely delighted with their experience using our products and services, and successful in their financial lives and businesses.

Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab:"
