My husband and I own 8 rental properties (7 condos, 1 house). We find the tenants, negotiate the leases, collect all rents and pay the appropriate costs for the properties ourselves (maintain, taxes, interest, etc.) as well as take full responsibilities for all repairs (either performing them ourselves or hiring an applicable trademans). My husband also sits on one of the condo boards. I am wondering if we can qualify for the QBI deduction for 2018. We spend over 250 hours in total on the properties but not 250 on each one individually. I am not sure what it means to "Group the properties". Your thoughts appreciated?
