Should I file for 2018 since I collected rent for 6mths ?

I am retired and collect 25000.00 in Social Security payment annually. I also collected rent for my home for 6mths. Do I need to file taxes for 2018?

Maybe. There is a filing requirement. If between the amount you collected in rent and one half of your social security, you have more income, then yes, you will have to file.
