Can repairs made in 2024 be split and half be claimed on my 2025 form?

It depends. Did you pay for the repairs in 2025? If so, you can claim the repairs on your 2025 tax return. If you paid for them in 2024, you must claim them on your 2024 tax return. The repairs are claimed in the year that you pay them.

I converted my primary home to rental. I moved out 11/15 and the property was rented out on 12/1. Day rented is 31 days. Is personal use start from 1/1 to 11/15?
