Under Wages&Income, I am entering the stock transactions from multiple accounts, but why does your software NOT ask me the same info for each account? The first entry asked me for both long term and short term gains and losses transactions, but the second entry did not, so it appears that there is a software glitch that Turbo Tax needs to correct..
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you choose to Enter it Myself you'll select a Broker and it will ask Tell us about your ____ 1099-B. There are two different selections here:
These formats do look different, but both do ask for Sale category
I cannot enter the cost basis for a short term sale. The entry box is frozen at 0.00
Try to exit and re-enter the program. If it is still frozen, try clearing cache and cookies, restarting your computer or trying a new browser.
I am trying to use your link to my Merrill Lynch account but Turbo Tax will not accept the log in. I checked my name and password both on my laptop and my computer so I know they are right as I was able to access Merrill Lynch on both but not through Turbo Tax. Is there a problem with the link?
The problem may be with TurboTax, but it may also be with Merrill. The M/L Tech support person told me that many of their 1099Bs will not be ready for download before Feb 29th. Thus I am waiting until March 1, before trying again to link M/L and TurboTax info.
