Nonresident state income taxes on rental property

I live in GA and have a rental property in GA. I did work (unrelated to the rental property) in PA and apparently have to pay PA state income taxes on the net income of the GA rental property. Is this accurate? Thanks!

Nonresident state income taxes on rental property

When you go through the PA return screens, you will see that the Georgia rental is listed on the return.  Click on the Edit link, and on the following screen you should see a checkbox that says "Make this income non-taxable in PA".

Pennsylvania programming requires that all income reported on the return flow to the PA return without assuming it is not taxed in PA.  Thus, you need to check the manual override box that I describe above to exclude the rental income from the PA return.  It is not taxed in PA, since you neither live in PA nor is the rental a PA business activity.
