Military and capital gains home sale

Husband is active duty military. Purchased home in 2011 and lived there 3 years. Got orders to relocate and rented out home ever since. He now has to sell both houses this year. I know there’s the military rule of extended 10 years to give you 15 years to sell the house to avoid capital gains but are we screwed anyways bc we have two homes in the same year? The other home has been listed as his primary residence for 9 years while he’s been stationed away.

Unfortunately., you can only use the exclusion once in a two year period.  See Determine whether you meet the look-back requirement.
