Does anyone know when submitting a trust return for Maryland state, should the federal 1041 also get sent to the state with it or just the Maryland forms? Looks as though TT prints everything to get sent.

Look at https://www.marylandtaxes.gov/forms/23_forms/Fiduciary-Booklet.pdf
As one example page 5 says:
If line 11 is greater than zero, attach to Form 504 a copy of the federal Form 1041 and all schedules relating to the type(s) and source(s) of income included on line 1
So there are circumstances when you must include the federal form. If TT prints it out, I wouldn't second guess. I'd just mail it in or efile. Maybe you don't actually need it in your circumstance, but it's not worth spending the time to figure it you (IMHO).
All good points, thank you for taking the time to answer!
