Life Settlement distribution

I received a 1099-R for a distribution from a Life Settlement investment. The amount is for the full distribution, but I can't find how to show the cost basis for the investment.

Life Settlement distribution

On a Form 1099-R, box 1 is the full amount of the distribution and the amount in box 2a is the taxable amount. Do you have a figure in box 2a?

Ideally, box 2a would be the full amount less your basis in the account. If that is not the case, you may need to request that the insurance company correct the form before you file your taxes.

If box 2a is blank, is box 2b checked? What is the code in box 7?
