Yes, you are correct in that you are entitled to deduct your passive losses when you sold your rental property in 2024.

 

Here is where you enter your passive loss carryover from 2023:

  • In the upper right of your screen in TurboTax Online, click on the magnifying glass, type "Schedule E", choose "Jump to Schedule E" in the search results.
  • Choose the pencil next to the address of the rental property
  • Scroll to "Less Common Situations", choose "Carryovers, limitations, at risk info, etc."
  • A the screen that asks if you had any passive losses carried from 2023, say yes and enter the amount.
