I have a carryover of capital loss. I did sell IPO stock and have capital gain that I am hoping to offset. Can the old loss offset the new gain?

I have a carryover of capital loss. I did sell IPO stock and have capital gain that I am hoping to offset. Can the old loss offset the new gain?

All old cap losses carried forward are reported on the Sch D and are netted against all current gains on the same Sch D.
