Line 13 on Schedule 8812 is a calculated number in the TurboTax program. The calculation is based on the Credit Limit Worksheet A in the Schedule 8812 instructions.
Go to this IRS website for the Schedule 8812 instructions on page 4 for the worksheet - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040s8.pdf#page=4
Is there a difference in what was calculated on the TurboTax Schedule 8812 Line 13 and the number that you calculate using the same worksheet?
Yes, the number that I get on the worksheet is very different from what Turbotax calculated
You will have to contact TurboTax support for assistance with this problem.

Actually, I see that I originally only did Worksheet, but needed to do Worksheet B. so the numbers DO match up. However, I got a notice from the IRS that the calculations (by Turbotax) were wrong :(
Then you will need to contact the IRS and speak directly with an agent to resolve this issue. If the notice you received has a phone number to contact the IRS, use that number.
Otherwise use the main contact number and follow this procedure to speak with an agent -
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
