Mortgage Interest

I have four 1098s because I refinanced and the loan got sold two times thereafter. So after I combine the interest paid in Box 1, should I then check the box below it that states "The interest amount I entered is different than what's on my 1098."

Thanks

Mortgage Interest

No.  Because  the total will match the four Forms 1098 that you have.  That statement refers to interest that you may have included that does not have a Form 1098.
