I am trying to file my taxes, and TurboTax Deluxe is not accepting the zip code for Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company. The address is in El Paso, TX, and the zip code is 79998-2901.

The software is not allowing me to delete or move on to complete the filing while this is the correct zip code.

Depending on which section of your return you are working on in TurboTax, you might not need to enter the address for Vanguard at all. Otherwise, please see the following suggestions:

As stated in this help article, which was recently updated:

    • You may receive a message like:
    • ZIP code is invalid for Electronic Filing. You must enter a valid ZIP code for your state. Enter a correct ZIP code in this format 'nnnnn' or 'nnnnn-nnnn'
    • TurboTax follows the IRS guidelines for acceptable ZIP codes. If the two-letter state abbreviation doesn't match the ZIP code, you'll receive this error when attempting to e-file.

    Solution

If you receive the error mentioned above:

If you have tried the above suggestions and are still having this issue, try these additional steps:

    • Try exiting TurboTax, restarting your device and starting TurboTax again.
    • Try using a different browser. Chrome usually works well.
    • Try clearing your cache and cookies.

If after trying all of these suggestions the issue persists:
