TurboTax 2025 Mac: Cannot switch from Forms back to EasyStep on macOS 27

EasyStep → Forms works normally.

Once I am in Forms mode, I cannot switch back to EasyStep using any of the available methods:

Command-T
View → EasyStep

All three do nothing.

Quitting TurboTax and reopening it returns me to EasyStep, but the problem reproduces every time I switch back into Forms.

I also tested this with a completely new blank return, and the same issue occurs, so it is not specific to my tax file.

I removed com.intuit.TurboTax.2025.plist, restarted the Mac, and tested again with no change.

Other Forms toolbar functions such as Open Form, Errors, and Tax Data work normally.

This appears to be a macOS 27 compatibility/regression issue in the Forms → EasyStep navigation. It is especially disruptive for complex returns where it is necessary to move frequently between EasyStep and the full Forms list.

Can this be escalated to the TurboTax Mac engineering team?

Me too! Easy Step button stopped functioning with Mac OS 27.

Intuit: You’ve had 6 years to adapt Turbo Tax to Apple Silicon and you’ve produced NOTHING. Now you’re up against the wall and this happens. Terrible. Please address ASAP.

They might address this by simply eliminating Mac support entirely. They’re already well on their way to eliminating desktop products in favor of cloud-based (online) services, so Mac support may be the first to go.

If you haven’t yet, install Rosetta 2 on your Mac. The OS upgrade from 26 to 27 uninstalls it. You can do this easily from Terminal.app. (the MacOS command line) Run this command at the prompt:

/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

If you’ve installed Rosetta 2 and the problem with the Easy Step ↔ Forms button persists, that’s on Intuit.

The GoldenGate update also broke the ability to print forms for filing. Help! How can Intuit allow this product to have this glaring bug so close to October 15!

Identical issue for Forms→ EasyStep as well as printing. The former has no workaround while I’ve managed to get around the printing by going to File-Preview and then opening the file in Mac’s preview, and print from there. Very time consuming and clearly shows the product is not meant to work on modern Macs.
Time to look at another solution as Intuit has not given a hint of supporting a native ARM app ever.

DIY tax prep desktop software for Macs? You don’t have to look any further than H&R Block. They’re the only one left that supports tax prep, installed, software for Macs.

I think HRB supports ARM but am not sure. I know TaxAct discontinued support for Macs re its desktop software. I don’t know where else you’d go with your current setup; pro software never did support Macs (except cloud-based) and consumer-level either never did support Macs or recently eliminated support.
