Start new??

I think I missed the opportunity to import last year's return but went ahead anyway. Would it be a good idea to start a new return and import last year's return even though I am well into the current return?

That is your choice.   If you have any sort of "carryover" amounts you really should start over and transfer 2024 to 2025.   If you do not have that sort of data, then it is your own decision whether you want to enter everything from scratch because you did not transfer at the beginning.

If you decide to start over and transfer the prior-year data into 2025, you also need to know where the *.tax2024 data file is located.   If you are using Online TurboTax, are you sure the 2024 data file is in the same account that you are using for 2025?  You can go to the Tax Home and look in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Does it show that a 2024 return was filed in that same account?   If there's no evidence of the 2024 return in that account, then you likely have multiple accounts.     Or was the 2024 return prepared in desktop TurboTax?
