tubo tax never asks if my 1099-misc is an attempt to collect money. So it puts it in as self employment every time. How do I fix this?

Which box of the 1099-MISC is the income in?

Why did you receive the income? Who paid it to you?

The income is in box 3. Income came from Oregon Paid Leave. It was for medical leave.

On the screen that says Did the Medical leave involve work that's like your main job? you should answer "no":

Then you should see the screens that ask if you just earned the money in 2024 and if it is associated with your main job. If you say it was just earned in 2024 and you didn't have an intent to earn money it will not be treated as self-employment income.
