EFile Transmission Error

I'm trying to e file my 2021 Federal and Rhode Island State tax. I'm getting the below message: "The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available - Turbo Tax is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return".

I thought efile opened on January 24, 2022. I've checked my software for updates as well. Are we not able to efile yet for tax year 2021?

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing. It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022

Here in NC…tried to file just now and keep getting the error message. I just paid $78 dollars because my forms were supposedly ready? i am so confused and this is the worst customer service. it doesn’t even give me the option to file separate. i have no clue what is going on!!

UPDATE: Took everyone’s advice and just filed federal for now. i will hold tight for the state taxes.

When I try to efile my nc state tax it says tax year 2021 transmissions are not available. Help me turbo tax!

Several NC state forms are not yet finalized and available for efiling. It looks like most are predicted to be available on 2/24/2022. See the list of available NC forms and expected dates here:

Same. Just efiled mine for 78 dollars and says transmissions not available 😣 Hopefully someone will update me on what to do next?

Yes NC too🙄🤦🏻. It's literally the 12th and I'm still receiving a transmission error 😒

It’s not allowing my E-file transmission to go through it says my Tax transmission for tax year 2021 is not available When all I was doing was fixing my AGI number now it won’t let me resubmit it

I’m having a error with submitting my returns it says we can’t e-file your return because Tax year 2021 transmission not available.But got a email yesterday from turbo tax saying the form ive been waiting on too finish just been recieved also I’m from Charlotte NC @TurboTax

If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return. This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.

If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen. On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit. Select the button File by Mail. Then change the filing status of the state return.

After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing. Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.
