The refund chart above presents  only an estimated date and is  put out by a third party ... the IRS has no formal refund chart any longer and has not for several years now ...

IRS no longer processes returns in first in first out batches. They are processed individually so The returns sent in at the same time will not necessarily process together.

The IRS states that 9 of 10 returns will process in 21 days or less from being accepted not filed. However considering that the IRS processes more than 140 million returns that means 14 million will be delayed for more than 21 days.

Think of the IRS process as a long pipe line. Some returns will be rejected before being allowed into the pipe and the rest will be accepted. Then once accepted into the pipeline many will process directly through without any delays and some will not.  Some returns will be siphoned off for further review of some kind. The basis of what triggers these reviews is a well guarded secret but some are just picked randomly every year.

Some reviews are automated and some will require human attention. The processing times will vary and due to the continued understaffing situation and the gov shutdown  they are likely to take much longer this year than last.

I was accepted on 1/21- I know that is an early date and I did receive the PATH message but today it changed to

"We have received your tax return and it is being processed

Also on the sidebar, it says the expected refund amount....

Any clue on to when they will actually start DD funds into accounts?

My daughter has two big doctor appointments and I need the funds like now-LOL

If anyone knows I would appreciate info

I am reading so many different things it will make your head spin!

Good morning all.. So I think the wmr new message is probably a standardize message for all path ppl.. I say this because they did state that wmr wouldn't update until a few days after Feb 15. So I just checked TT and the bar that was colored blue half way thru is now full.. That's a great sign and hopefully a DD will come shortly

If you had any credits your return was held due to the PATH Act. But we will have a DDD by the end of the week or weekend.

@aperez616  I don’t know if you have been answered yet but Wells Fargo doesn’t deposit your money until the day of that morning.

Has it been more than 21 days since your return was accepted by the IRS?  If so, you can contact the IRS per the Where's My Refund page.

I have been trying to connect with someone who is competent to give me a definite answer regarding my 2019 tax return.  Again, I have had numerous conversations with Turbo Tax, Tax Slayer, and the IRS.  The organizations have been passing the ‘buck’ per say.  Unfortunately, the organizations do not want to admit accountability or responsibility for their misjudgment.

On the IRS “where is my refund”, states that my funds were sent to my financial institution on February 26, unfortunately the funds never made it in my account.  My refund has been deposited into a TPG account, and never forward to my checking account.

This is the second time I have connected with a Tax Advocate with no solution.  As my situation sounds like the next person, we are experiencing a hardship and my husband has been off work since June 2019, due to a work-related accident.  I just spoke with a tax advocate who provided a response in a very unprofessional manner.

A very concern taxpayer as well as citizen.
