Use of Online Turbo Tax Software for FY 2025 Returns

I have read that the Online Turbo Tax software can be used for "only 1 return".   Does this mean that if I use it to do my Federal IRS Return, I will be blocked from using it for my State Tax Return also?

It's the Federal return that is limited to 1.  With Online TurboTax you can prepare and efile 1 Federal return per account and up to 5 state returns per account.   So you will NOT be blocked from filing a state return.  In fact, Online TurboTax loves state returns because they charge a fee for each one; i.e., there is a preparation fee for the Federal return and a preparation fee for any state return.   There is no efiling fee in Online TurboTax, however; efile is included.

@stpicco1   No, you can use Online for state too.    It means you can only do returns for federal and state for 1 account.  So you need to set up separate accounts if you need to do returns for someone else like your child.  You can use the same email address for 5 accounts and returns. 

Did you use the Desktop program for 2024 and won't have Windows 11 to install the 2025 program?   If you can't install the Desktop program or find another computer to install it on, you can use the Online version on Windows 10. You can transfer from this year’s Desktop tax return into the Online version next year. So be sure to have the .tax2024 file on your computer.

Then next year….You will notice several differences and may not like the Online version. It has less features and no Forms Mode. And you may need to use a higher version to enter certain things. You can only do 1 return per account. Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2025 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done.
