Half of my delivery driving income was the result of tips, I made about $6k total with $3.1k in tips. How do I avoid entering this as "other" income w/out a 1099? I was only issued a tax summary, but it clearly shows 50+ percent of my income was from tips. I would like to not be taxed on tips if possible.

I know how much I paid with my 2024 tax return, but I'm not sure that's the same amount that is being asked for here.

Your spouse needs to know what you did just as much as you need to know what she did. If you are unable to have a polite conversation to find out, get your attorney involved. When you file MFS, both spouses have to file the same way. Both itemize, or both use standard deduction. If you are itemizing, you have to have some sort of meeting of the minds as to who is using what deduction.

If you filed with TurboTax, to get back to your 2024 return, you can try our self-serve account recovery process. You can also order a free digital transcript of your return from the IRS. You can view your online transcript immediately, while a mailed transcript takes 5–10 days to receive.
Once you get your last year's AGI, to enter it on the return:

Select the File tab
Continue until you reach the screen that says To continue, select options below
Enter your corrected AGI in Enter last year's AGI here
Select Continue and follow the screens until you've re-transmitted your return
Request to access your TurboTax Account

If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date. Pay through either Direct Pay or your individual online account. See if you need to file a state extension.

If you owe tax, you could be assessed a late filing penalty. You can e-file your extension through our Easy Extension website. An extension gives you extra time to file, it does not give you extra time to pay your taxes, which are due on April 15, 2026. Even if you can't pay your taxes by the deadline, file an extension anyway so you can avoid the late-filing penalty.

@ christinabbolton1978 Did you efile it or not? If you did not mistakenly efile it with the wrong info, then this information below does not apply to you. Or did you already actually efile the return with the wrong tax year info? If so, that is a big problem. If accepted, the IRS would consider that to be your 2025 return. So if you did efile it, and if it has been accepted, that would mean you would need to prepare an amended return 2025 Form 1040-X to correctly change it to 2025 return info. If you recently efiled, and have not yet received the results of the efile, then you should hope that the efile is rejected. That would be your easiest path out of this situation.
