I'm sorry to hear that happened.  I'm old school and use the desktop version.   Just dispute the charges with your bank or ccard company.  They will refund first and then do the research.  They will ask if you tried to deal with the vendor first.  Good luck.

For 2022, you must purchase and download prior-year desktop software to do it yourself, or hire a local tax professional.    @Cornelia_cab
What question do you have about your IRS form 1099-B?

TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return.   What do you mean by "flagged?"  How do you know it was "flagged?"   Did you receive a letter from the IRS?

I guess there is nothing I can do and there is nobody that can help me. The system tells me to contact and expert then tells me there are no experts. It just takes me in a loop over and over again. This software is trash. Why does turbo tax make this process so difficult. What is the point of linking my account to import info if it's not going to work? I've spent hours trying to fix this but nothing is working.   The AI helper is not helping me. It disregards my questions and refers me to to an expert. This also loops telling me there is no expert available until it offloads me to the "community" to ask a question.
Are you stuck in a certain section? Was your return rejected? If so see What does my rejected return code mean and how do I fix it? If you need more time to file - How do I file an IRS tax extension?
The totals may be correct but there may be one question within the transaction that needs to be answered.   I have seen How did you receive this investment that needs to be answered.

If you were still legally married at the end of 2025 you would probably save a lot of money on your taxes if you filed jointly, if the two of you can cooperate enough to do that. If your ex already filed as married filing separately, he can amend his separate tax return to a joint return and include you. The fact that "he claimed the house" does not require you to file separately. As xmasbaby0 said, you cannot file as married unless you were still legally married at the end of 2025. To be clear, that means you cannot file as married filing jointly or as married filing separately.

This rejection happens when your clean vehicle VIN ("Vehicle Identification Number") does not match the IRS data for the Clean Vehicles sold :   VIN is incorrect (Rejection code F8936-030-01)  Your tax ID and VIN do not match in the IRS database (Rejection code F8936-046)  The credit type claimed and the amount entered on the Schedule A of Form 8936 is not matching the IRS database (Rejection code F8936-0047)  The purchase date is inconsistent with the IRS database (Rejection code F8936-048). Please follow these steps:   Check the report that you received from the dealer and make sure it is correct and matches what you have entered on your tax return.  Dealers who sell vehicles eligible for a used (previously owned) vehicle credit under IRC 25E must furnish a report to the buyer at the time of sale and also to IRS for those vehicles to be eligible for a credit under IRC 25E Contact the dealer and make sure that they provided the correct information to the IRS and/or that they did provide the sale information to the IRS. If you can prove that number 1 and 2 are true and the IRS still rejects your tax return, you will have to print and mail the return. You will also need to send proof that proves you got the credit.   Clean vehicle credit seller or dealer requirements | Internal Revenue Service

You have to exit the review and go back to the federal or state return and fix it there.      Check the 2-letter state code for that zip code.   Make sure the city and state match up to the zip code.  This error happens when the state code doesn't match what is on file with the IRS.  TurboTax follows the IRS for acceptable zip codes.  If the state code does not match the correct state, you will get an e-filing error.   Correcting the state code is usually the fix.     Check that the 2 letter state abbreviation is correct here USPS Two–Letter State and Possession Abbreviations   (most common error) Make sure you've entered the ZIP code in either 5-digit or 9-digit format, for example, 12345 or 12345-6789. Look up the correct ZIP code for the street address in question.

State tax refunds can often take longer than federal refunds. You will typically receive your state refund within 3-4 weeks or more after your tax return is accepted.    Your state refund is outside of  the normal processing window, and it is common for federal and state refunds to arrive at different times.   Confirm in TurboTax that your state return was actually accepted, and not just submitted. To do this, log into your TurboTax account, go to your "Tax Home" screen, and look under "Your tax returns & documents" to check your  "Accepted" status.    If you used a TurboTax Desktop program, you can click on "File" at the top of your TurboTax screen (in the black bar) and then click on "Check E-File Status".   Your state Department of Revenue is the most accurate place to check your refund stats. Use your specific state's "Where's My Refund" website to check the status. You can google it by typing in your state's  name and Track My Refund. You can also find information on tracking your state refund by clicking this link. How do I track my state refund? If you have any additional information to share or additional questions regarding this, please return to Community and we would be glad to help you.

I was unfortunate advice for someone to say not to file 8829 because of a business loss. You cannot take the home office deduction in the year the business has a loss, but if you file the form you can have a carryover to a future profitable year.  I encountered the same error on line 10b for an business that had a profit. The problem was NOT due to the business income, but because a software glitch was pulling the number from the filed form 1098 even though I followed the step-by-step instructions to uncheck its inclusion since I'm claiming the standard deduction.  The correct place to include the interest paid if you claim the standard deduction is under excess mortgage interest. In my case, the program pulled a negative number into line 10b where it should have simply been zero. I could not manually override line 10b without the program flagging it as an error and preventing me from e-filing.  The fix (if you are claiming a standard deduction):  Go into forms rather than step-by-step.  On the 8829 just after line 9 there is a text box "Interest and Taxes Smart Worksheet" On line B of that worksheet, there are links to the 1098s you entered (or at least there were for me!) Double click those links, and then delete them.  This will not delete the entry of the 1098s from your tax return, it will just delete them being in the wrong place, and then your negative number on line 10b will turn to a 0 and it will no longer flag as an error.
@ breannahofmann  asked:  "Why did my federal tax get flagged?"   Got flagged as what?   This is mainly a user community forum.  No one in this forum can know anything about your situation.
All details have been entered - I have all the Forms referenced. Still stuck on this section and keep getting looped back to it.
