I'm still experiencing this problem on April 15, 2026.   As for your income to passive activity loss, that would explain why taxes due don't decrease further as you reach $0 net on the rental but that's not what's happening.   The taxes due are INCREASING as you enter more expenses on the Schedule E rental.  There is no scenario where adding maintenance or repair expenses should result in an increased tax burden.   I can only hope that the actual tax forms are correct and that this is just a months long glitch in the taxes due dashboard calculation.

The paining part is that there is none to ask about it. I really hated this and I will do everything not to go through the same thing next year again.

The extension gives you until October 15, 2026, to file your taxes without getting a failure to file penalty.  You don't get extra time to pay your taxes so you must pay any taxes that you may have that are due by April 15, 2026, so you won't be assessed the failure to pay penalty.   Refer to the TurboTax Help article How do I file an IRS tax extension? for instructions. If you need to file a state extension, review the article How do I file an extension for my personal state taxes?

If you had State Tax withheld on your Form 1099-R in Box 14, you need to enter the Payer's ID, and distribution amount in Boxes 15 and 16.  This doesn't mean you're filing your State tax return with TurboTax; this info is for your Federal return.   If you had no State Tax withheld, you can leave Boxes 15 and 16 blank.    @drsolomson

Check your e-file status >> How do I check my e-file status?     The first page of your tax return PDF is the Filing instructions - that page will show the account and amount you have scheduled.   It normally takes the IRS a few days to take the  payment, but it is effective the date you scheduled it.
