In TurboTax Desktop, remove a self-employment activity by following these steps:   Across the top of the screen, click on Federal Taxes. Across the top of the screen, click on Wages & Income. Click I'll choose what I work on. Scroll down to Business Income and Expense (Schedule C) and click to the right. At the screen Business Summary, click delete to the right of the self-employment activity.

If your gambling losses equal your winnings but TurboTax shows an error, it might be caused by how the entries are input or system validation rules. To check and potentially fix this: 1. Confirm your winnings and losses are entered separately in the correct sections. Winnings usually go on Form W-2G or income section, and losses in the Itemized Deductions under gambling losses. 2. Gambling losses can only be deducted up to the amount of your winnings, so they must not exceed winnings. 3. Ensure you are itemizing deductions; if you take the Standard Deduction, gambling losses can't be deducted. 4. Try re-entering your amounts carefully, making sure they exactly match with no extra spaces or characters.

That's an odd thing to happen. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

I called into TurboTax again this weekend and was told the product update has applied. Since clicking "fix my return" was not guiding me to the actual area needing updates, here is what the TurboTax agent had me do:   1) Clear my cache and cookies 2) Delete my NM State taxes to start over 3) On the Capital gains section, I did have to change the amount manually (it was pulling a higher dollar amount than what should have populated)   Redoing the State Tax was fairly easy for me, since it still pulled the data from the Federal Return It did not charge me again since I previously paid. If ithe system tried to charge me again, I was told to call in before accepting. Connecting with an Agent on the phone may be worth it if you'd like them to guide you through the first 2 steps.    This is not professional advice (I am just a Turbotax customer), but I can confirm my NM return was accepted after following the above steps to redo my state taxes.

Yes, you can remove the excess Roth IRA contributions, plus earnings, before the due date of your return to avoid the penalty.     Since you made the excess contribution for 2025 and will withdraw the 2025 excess Roth IRA contribution plus earnings in 2026 before the due date, then you will get a 2026 Form 1099-R in 2027 which should have codes P and J.  This 1099-R will have to be included on your 2025 tax return and you have two options:     Amend your 2025 return after you actually have your 2026 Form 1099-R in hand.  OR   You can report it now in your 2025 return and ignore the 1099-R when it comes unless there is Box 4 Federal Tax withholding and/or Box 14 State withholding.  Then you must enter the 2026 Form 1099-R into the 2026 tax return since the withholdings are reported in the year that the tax was withheld.  The 2026 code P will not do anything to the 2026 tax return income but the withholdings will be applied to 2026.   If you wish to report the Form 1099-R now as part of your 2025 return without amending it later, go to the use these steps:     Go to Wages and Income > Retirement Plans and Social Security > Form 1099-R section of your return to add a Form 1099-R Select "I'll type it in myself" Box 1 enter total distribution (contribution plus earning) Box 2a enter the earnings Box 7 enter J and P Click "Continue" On "Is the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box on this 1099-R checked?" screen answer "No, the box is blank"? On the "Which year on Form 1099-R" screen say that this is a 2026 Form 1099-R. Click "Continue" after all 1099-R are entered and answer all the questions. Continue until "Did you use your IRA to pay for any of these expenses?" screen and enter the amount of earnings under "Corrective distributions made before the due date of the return".   See the following TurboTax help article for more information:   What if I made an excess Roth IRA contribution because my income is too high?  
I paid the $40 for a bank fee from TurboTax, I then was charged another $40 bank fee from Santa Barbara Tax program plus a Misc. Fee of $88 both of which I was not appraised of in advance nor approved.

If using a VPN, try without the VPN if you can safely do so; i.e., if you are not using public Wi-Fi.   But you shouldn't be using public Wi-Fi for sensitive tax returns anyway.

Are you using TurboTax Online or something else?  At what page in the software or what information are you wanting to enter where are you experiencing this issue?  Please clarify.
