We at Intuit TurboTax want our users to be completely delighted with their experience using our products and services, and successful in their financial lives and businesses. Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon.  If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab.

Hi - I am having trouble with Turbotax duplicating information from line 3a to line 3b in Form 1116. I have already deleted Form 1116 once and reentered all the information and while I believe line 3b should be left blank, the program continues to copy the amount from line 3a into line 3b also. This is causing an erroneous value for line 3c (as lines 3a and 3b are added together to get line 3c). Please help.

@ user17737831727 wrote: I have the same problem and your reply is wrong. I did my 2024 taxes using TurboTax 2024 for Mac and saved my tax file with NO password and NO encryption. I have done this same import from previous years every year since 2011, always the same, always with TT for Desktop. This time, using TT 2025, to import my 2024 file, there is no error message, just a beep! No indication of what might be wrong. I have tried selecting the file manually, letting the software find it, verifying the file is not encrypted or password protected. No joy. Bug city.   I'm embarrassed for Intuit now. I was an Intuit software engineer from 2004 through 2012 (Quickbooks and IFS) and we'd have fixed this issue and had a new release in a couple days max. This problem appears to be at least 3 months old now with no fix. Shame on Intuit. At the least, there should be a bloody error message, something to explain that the software recognizes a problem, not just a beep.   I wonder if Intuit will let me contact a support person or not. Guess that's all I got, or re enter everything from scratch which is obviously what all the other folks did who had this problem. Lesser of two problems since being on hold to Bangalore for 2 hours is more painful than re entering from scratch. You should read the bulk of this thread, as several Mac users have reported solutions over the last few weeks that worked for them.   Encryption is only 1 possibility and is quickly ruled out, but that's not the main reason for most people since most people's files were not encrypted.   Several Mac users have reported how they resolved this issue in this thread.  Early postings don't provide the various approaches as they were not yet known.  Read the thread in reverse order as more possible solutions became clear over time.   Several have reported their workaround was to simply close TurboTax, restart the computer, and relaunch TurboTax.   That simple maneuver may not work for everyone, however.  That's why other Mac users have shared their solutions in this thread, and any one solution may not work for everyone, but with the variety, it's possible you'll find one that works.   There are quite a few success stories in this thread, so see if one of their suggestions works for you.
Please give us more information so we can help you. Thank you.

Agree!  Turbo tax software should pull ALL previous year's figures. I'm not sure where to begin to get the numbers and what it allowed, that's why I purchase Turbo Tax

If your Form 1099-R is for a standard retirement plan (like a 401k or pension) and already has the correct amount in Box 2a, you can bypass the annuity interview loop by following these steps:   On the 1099-R entry screen, make sure Box 7 matches your form (likely Code 7 or Code 1) Ensure the "IRA/SEP/SIMPLE" box is unchecked  When the software asks, "Was this distribution from a 403(b) plan?", select "No, it's another type of qualified retirement plan" By selecting No, the software should treat it like a standard pension or 401k distribution and skip the "Annuity" questions entirely   You mentioned an annuity statement. What if you actually have an annuity? If you are receiving regular payments from a commercial annuity or a qualified plan where you made after-tax contributions (Usually shown in Box 9b of your 1099-R), you will need the following information to get past the interview screens:   Annuity start date Plan Cost (Basis), which is the amount of after-tax money you (or your employer) contributed to the plan Age at start Amounts previously recovered, which is the total amount of "tax-free" principal you've already claimed on prior years' returns

You enter those through the same 1099-B entry screens. When you get to the import options, select Enter a different way, then select Type it in myself, and from there you will enter your purchase and sale dates, proceeds, cost basis, and all other necessary details for your tax reporting.    Be sure not to miss any questions asking if these transactions were reported to the IRS or if a 1099 was received.

Edit your Dependent student in the Personal Info section.  If all appears correct, and you know you're not eligible for an Education Credit, you're not required to enter Form 1098-T into TurboTax, it is an informational document only.  You can delete the form from your return and keep it for your records.    Any taxable scholarship income can be entered under Miscellaneous Income 1099-A, 1099-C > Other Reportable Income, although it is easier if you're able to enter it in the Education section and have TurboTax report the taxable scholarship income for you.     Have you tried deleting/re-entering him in the Personal Info section?  Clear your Cache and Cookies after deleting, before re-entering?        @user17737503813

I am very frustrated with the Turbo Tax software. I have already paid to file fed and state but it will not go through . TT software response says I need to update the software but I find no menus option in the desk top version that will allow me to do so.  Don't want to close out without filing because I already paid for the filing.  Where is the menu to upgrade...

We are both retired, filing using the standard deduction and Turbo Tax gave us credit for our health insurance premiums. It kept going back insisting I enter the second value in the box that had that info. We are not self employed, I cannot figure out why it did this. I thought there might be a change in the tax law but after submitting (filing the taxes) I started researching and this apparently should not have happened. Should I correct this at this point? Or wait for it to get kicked back. If I need to file a corrected right now, what is that process.
