Yes, it could be correct.   When you file an amended return, it stands on its own.  The $0 refund represents the amount of refund due to you by filing the amended return.  It does not represent any refund or balance due that was shown on your original tax return.  The original return will still be processed as it was filed.

if you don't want to install s/w or file by mail you can look into other alternatives like FreeTaxUSA that support prior year tax prep online including e-file.
@Irishgawdess36DDD the two desktop s/w options that support Win 10 are TaxAct and HR Block, if that's what your asking about (this thread is such a mess it's hard to follow)

If you want to use TurboTax to do that, you have to use 2024 desktop software installed on a computer (not a tablet.)   It cannot be prepared online with TurboTax.    And the 2024 return cannot be efiled with TurboTax; it has to be printed, signed, dated, and mailed.   It is recommended to send it with a method that has tracking.   You can purchase 2024 software directly from TurboTax at this page: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

I am using TurboTax Premier desktop. There is a defect in handling non-cash charitable contributions on Form 8283. In Section A, the software refuses to electronically file unless column (g) cost basis information is provided. From page 8 of the IRS instructions, which addresses my situation, "Do not complete this column for publicly traded securities held more than 12 months..."
When I revisit the return, it says that the return cannot be filed at this time due to a processing error that will be corrected on March 6 2026. It's March 7 and I am still getting this error.

I've not had any issue installing on an M4 Mac mini with OS 15 and upgrading to OS 26, same last year with Turbotax 2024 on OS 15.  Nothing else is needed that I am aware of, rosetta is part of the OS.   Last year folks had issues installing on OS 15 but it worked under a different user ID for whatever reason, so if you haven't tried those steps I would do that and see what happens.
