I was divorced halfway through 2025, and by the end of the year I was legally single. During the year, I was the working spouse only in a community state. I understand that Form 8958 might be required for that half of the year while married. Does TurboTax support Form 8958? Do I need to report half of the income for the portion of the year we were married and living in a community property state? Should both my ex and I each report half the income I/we earned during the community property period on our individual tax returns, even though we ended the year single? Appreciate any guidance on how to enter this correctly in TurboTax. Thanks!

@MarilynG1 this makes no sense because TT simply asks specific to energy credits "First, we need to know a little more about your living arrangements..did x and y (husband and wife in my case) live in the same home in 2025?  The answer is Yes, we lived together in the same house."     If you select no and your filing jointly then my wife has to fill out a 5695 form as well even though I paid for it all?  That makes no sense and even when you do that the total credit goes down as I assume TT assumes my wife is going to fill out an additional 5695 form? Also, if I say no to that question the total refund amount decreases which doesn't seem right either so this form seems to be broken entirely.     FWIW mine were rejected today for that same 5695 form bs.
I've enclosured a screenshot of 1099-DIV with red highlight about "FATCA Filling Requirement" did not check. But it got False as shown on previous image. Can you please help?

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.   To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

Follow these steps since line 2 additions is not line 3 subtractions: Let's enter your 1099 a little differently. Open to the federal income screen Locate the troublesome 1099 Edit and remove the box 3 amount. continue Add a new 1099 using the payer information, etc from the original and leave all the boxes blank except box 3. Continue do not check to adjust interest. Do check government interest or my state doesn't tax all of this interest. Now, you have two 1099 forms created from one form. One has box 3, the other has all but box 3. Continue through to your state return and see what happens. It should be correct now.
Form CT-1040, Line 4 states "Subtractions from federal adjusted gross income (from Schedule 1, Line 50).  Schedule 1 does not have a line 50.  Where do I find this information?

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

TurboTax does the Alternative Marriage Calculation behind the scenes, and in many cases this does not reduce the amount of APTC to be repaid.  If the total household income prior to the marriage is above the limit, it doesn't reduce the repayment.    Here's more detailed info about the Alternative Marriage Calculation and IRS Instructions for Form 8962.   If you entered the 1095-A and related questions correctly, switching to TurboTax Desktop would probably not provide a better outcome; however, here's How to Switch from Online to Desktop.   @user17719824831
If your new marital status has changed, you will need to start a new return, and you won't be able to transfer from last year.    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040.  If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher. The Deluxe online edition is currently $49.  If you requested to have the TurboTax account paid from the federal tax refund, there is a $40 service charge for that option.   See this for removing the pay with refund from your account - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/remove-pay-refund-fees-turbotax-online-change/L7UxC6ZZp_US_en_US

Reporting an additional $5,000 in income can lower your refund by possibly put you into a higher tax bracket. Also, when your total income increases, it can reduce your eligibility for certain credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Child Tax Credit.
I tried it last night and it worked for me for online submission. I submitted my taxes last night that included the updated form.
