My name is Sung Jin Han. I recently filed my tax return using TurboTax, and $35 was deducted from my refund for the “Up to 5 Days Early Refund” service. I did not know that selecting this option would result in a $35 charge, and I was not informed clearly or explicitly that this fee would be deducted. Based on my experience, I did not receive my refund notably earlier — in fact TurboTax stated it might arrive by late February, but I actually received it on March 4, so it’s unclear whether I received it early at all. Because I was not aware I had chosen this service, and because I’m a long‑time TurboTax customer, I respectfully request that this $35 fee be refunded to me in full. I would appreciate your prompt review and correction of this charge. Please respond to my email: [removed] Thank you, Sung [removed]

I now realize I have always been sucked into the IRS's "contribute the maximum amount of 401k deduction" for the past 35 years of my employment. Now I see that was so stupid, just another Uncle Sam scam to suck the blood ($$$$) out of all my retirement income (RMD), when I retire. Thank God I've delayed retirement where I am paying all these taxes now, (not bad since the government is paying me a stupid amount of money). If I was smarter in my younger years, I would have calculate how much I earned below the next tax level and use that amount to convert my IRA to ROTH conversion. But I digress. I now see if I put off retirement now and convert all my 401k and traditional IRA (WHILE I NOW CAN AFFORD TO PAY 37% IN TAXES) to ROTH, I helplessly fall into the same blood sucking Obama care freeloaders (where I almost feel guilty about this). Our whole system is screwed, 37 trillion dollars in debt (not really its closer to 200-300 trillion if you add in all the pork barrel congress BS debt)

That's a good thought, but no, I don't have to pay back any premium tax credits. Obviously I can't claim $5959 more for health insurance premiums than I paid. But I'm unable to change or override line 17. So I don't know what to do. Must be some kind of a work around but I don't see it.

You can add a dependent in TurboTax to see all of the fields related to dependents.    Where do I add or remove a dependent?      Although there is not a description field, all the relevant fields pertaining to claiming a dependent can be found in the dependent interview.   Many of the questions will relate to the guidelines here >>  Who can I claim as my dependent?   @T45Pickens

See the following steps to remove property taxes:   Go to Deductions & Credits Then go to Your Home "Revisit" or "Start" the Property (real Estate) Taxes section. Remove any information previously entered in this section, or answer no to the "Did you pay property or real estate taxes?" question. Alternatively, you can delete Schedule A completely to remove any property tax items along with any other items related to itemized deductions (mortgage interest, charitable donations, etc.).  See the following link on how to delete a form in TurboTax: How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

I am trying to avoid an estimated payment underpayment penalty.  I had interest and Social Security throughout the year and withdrew retirement in Oct/Nov 2025. The only withholding was on the retirement. I also made an estimated payment in Jan 2026. I used 2210AI to show income was mostly at the end of year.  There is a question asking if I want withholding treated when actually withheld, if I select yes then I owe a penalty because it was paid out of the retirement in Oct. But if I let it spread it throughout the year I don't owe a penalty.   Do you HAVE to treat withholding as when actually withheld if you are annualizing showing most income late in the year? It seems like you would need to match withholding to income.

Hello, We also had insulation installed with a cost of 1332. I answered all the questions like you have shown. It ends up saying based on what I've entered, they can't get me the home energy credit for 2025 and I have no credits to carry. I understand now that we don't get the credit if we have no tax liability. But Why is my credit not carrying forward? I have been reading that turbo tax has a glitch going on with form 5695 that they are working to fix. Any advice? Thank you
I don't even have any education-related aspects - so it's truly baffling why this form is even in my return/list at all...    SE

The IRS requires you to identify where on your return you have reported income, deductions, and credits associated with foreign financial accounts and other financial assets. Below we've provided examples of where each item might be found. You'll need to identify where these items are reported on your return.   This may be easier if you first complete your return and print a preview copy. Then you can return to this section and use your preview copy for guidance.   Where Reported (Form or Schedule; only one entry per row is required)       Amount   Form and Line   Schedule and Line   Example   Interest $XXX       Schedule B, Line 1   Dividends $XXX       Schedule B, Line 5   Gains/(Losses) $XXX       Form 8949, Line 1     Question- How do we print a preview copy to populate the Form/ Schedule and Line. The Federal preview screens don't show it and it only takes you to payment. I'm not comfortable making a payment till I can go through my filing and validate accuracy. Any help would be welcome
The deduction for up to $1,000 of charitable contributions without itemizing takes effect in 2026. It is not available on a 2025 tax return. (It's up to $2,000 for married filing jointly.)

I guess TT didn't learn from its mistakes last year with forms. March 21st 2025 it was finally fixed. If this is working on desktop, why not give the online users access to the desktop.
