I bet what you are saying.  But consider this:  I received NO notification from the IRS to indicate that I had a new ID pin for 2025, so how would I know the 2024 pin was changed?  I think that - since the field was presumably empty - that TT could have asked if I had a new ID pin for 2025, as part of the final review.  That would have saved a lot of grief.

The Form 1040-X for amending a 2025 federal tax return is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/04/2026   Forms and schedules availability website - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...   An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return. Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS. Excellent.   This is clearly an error in Turbotax.  Spoke to on-line rep who had not idea how to force the system to generate pa Voucher forms, OR why they are Not generated automatically.  After an hour reviewing all my entries, and 40 minutes on the phone with the representative, I found and did what you suggested.  The labels are slightly different in my version.  Form:  Estimated Tax Worksheet (for my records).  Line: Part V #3 Pa tax withholding---change the estimated amount to zero.  Restart TurboTax.   Vouchers generated.

Hi everyone, I’m stuck with a Colorado state e-file rejection and also seeing inconsistent payment info in TurboTax, so I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Issue 1 – Colorado rejection My federal return was accepted, but Colorado keeps getting rejected with: “Data in the return is missing or invalid” Reject code: /ReturnState/FinancialTransaction/RefundDirectDeposit/Amount My Colorado refund is about $700 I’ve verified routing/account/type multiple times I even switched to a completely different bank account Still rejected Issue 2 – Can’t print/mail, and payment method looks inconsistent TurboTax suggests printing and mailing if the reject happens again, but when I try to print it says I can’t because I chose to deduct TurboTax fees from my refund / “Pay with refund,” so I must e-file. However, on the TurboTax page it also says: “You’ve chosen to deduct your TurboTax fees from your refund”, but when I open the receipt it shows I paid with credit card. So I’m blocked both ways: Colorado e-file keeps rejecting TurboTax won’t let me print/mail due to “pay with refund” But the receipt shows I already paid by card Questions Has anyone seen this Colorado reject code specifically tied to RefundDirectDeposit/Amount? What actually fixes it (resetting state refund method, switching to paper check, etc.)? How do I remove/disable the “deduct fees from refund” option (if I already paid by card) so I can print and mail the Colorado return if needed? Any steps to “reset” the Colorado direct deposit/refund amount fields so the state file validates? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

so are you good, or do you still have an issue?   (Turbotax could probably link the two sections more easily, but financially it's two separate transactions so they can't really trigger a contribution just based on a 1099-R as it's only half the process).

Yes, I can see the 8606; however, there are definitely issues with it.    Here is the sequence of questions Turbotax leads me through: 1. Is this a repayment?  No 2. Amount of contributions you put into a traditional IRA in 2025? $6,600 3. Amount switched from traditional IRA to Roth IRA?  $6,600 4. Enter recharacterization information:  Original Date of Contribution ... done throughout year so no way to enter one date Recharacterization Date ... same as above Recharacterization Reason ... convert to Roth Amount Transferred ... $6,600 5. Did you contribute more than allowed for 2024 or prior?  No 6. Did you have any NON-decutible contributions to your traditional IRA from 2024 or prior?  No   There is no place to put any non-deductible data for 2025.  I think that is the problem unless I am missing something.   I have deleted everything and started again but nowhere does it allow for 2025 non-deductible information.   Also, on the Form 1040, line 4b it lists all the contribution as taxable and 4c does not have a "Rollover" checked.     I hope this gives you some insight into what I am doing wrong ... or the software is doing wrong.  Driving me crazy!!

Hi, this is still an issue when I am searching for answers, crazy its almost been a year.   My questions is I closed my company in Jan 2025, its a sole proprietor and I sold the company. I was the only owner. Its not a lot of money. Where do I report this in turbotax? I have searched online but it references an area I can't find.   Thank you,   Patty

@ nonameatall wrote: That's a great suggestion, theoretically.  However, the reason so many people have recently asked this question is that there is a bug in the online version (using Premium, having upgraded from Deluxe), which means that the 1040-ES is not being offered anywhere.  Indeed, the current UI bears no resemblance to this rosy picture being painted, of the form being available (as it used to be) under Other Tax Situations.  You're not missing anything; it's just not there.  Could someone from TurboTax (does anyone monitor these forums?) please fix this bug as soon as possible?   It's not in "other tax situations."  It's always been in the Deductions section, in a category along with other subtopic for taxes paid such as Foreign Tax, etc..  But in Online TurboTax, it may be harder to find if the following scenario happens to people who have not yet been in the Estimated Taxes section this year since they won't know how to expand the full list of deductions.   When clicking the left column tab for Deductions & Credits, it may take someone to a page called "Your Tax Breaks".   That shows the "Tax Breaks", i.e., deductions, that someone has already worked on this year or that TurboTax is expecting from what was entered last year.   Lower on that screen should be a button or link for "Add more tax breaks" or "Show more tax breaks" or similar wording.   When clicked, then the screen should expand, and all the deduction topics are displayed including "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid."  Then that topic can be expanded further to get the subtopics.   In any case, here's a tip when you can't quickly find something in Online TurboTax.  The TOPICS SEARCH button is a pretty handy tool.   Here's how to find and use it.  This example is for estimated taxes, but it can be for almost any topic you want to find:   With the return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS. In the Tools Center choose the blue button Topic Search. In the topic search line enter the phrase estimated tax payments without quotes. Make the selection in the list (it may already be highlighted), and either double-click it or click the GO button. Next screen is Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid. Expand the section Estimated Tax Payments. Choose the appropriate category and tax year you are reporting (Federal, state, local) and click START or Revisit.

Thanks folks for your input.  My default browser was Chrome, so when the new window was opened by Turbo Tax desktop, I tried copying and pasting the address into MS Edge.  And I would enter credentials into MS Edge -- and IT WORKED!!!  It sounds like from others as well, it may work if you use a browser different from your default browser.  This is a very frustrating and non-sensical bug in the Turbo Tax software - they should send alerts to users so they are not circling around and getting nowhere.  We as customers paid for this to make our tax-reporting process easier - not more frustrating!  Many thanks to you fellow users!

I sold a commercial property at a loss.  I am using Turbo Tax Premier.  There is no place to enter the information.  I need IRS form #4797.  Will Turbo Tax Premier accommodate me?
That seems like the correct answer and correct way to handle it.  Is it properly handling the amounts?
