The methodology of such a test is to look for strong similarities, not exact duplicates. This is to account for typos and other inadvertent misspellings when accidentally entering the same form twice.   For example, are the Payer's TIN (the employer identification numbers) the same on the two 1099-Rs? You may need to fiddle with the Payer's name and address in the upper left to try to get past the duplicate test.

It is possible that they are not participating in the qualified Manufactures program even if they DO meet energy star requirements.  If they are not, then you cannot claim a credit for their product. They would have had to take steps to register their business with the IRS and then they would have been able to give you the QMID.  Without the QMID you cannot take the credit.   Here is a list of qualified manufacturers.  If the company that manufacturer your pellet stove is not on the list, you will not be able to claim the credit.       In 2025, for each item of qualifying property placed in service, no credit will be allowed unless the item was produced by a qualified manufacturer and the taxpayer reports the Qualified Manufacturer Identification Number (QMID) for the item on their tax return.

I was having this problem. Called Merrill, they said it was TT issue. Called TT and they were very helpful. Offered several workarounds. In the end, she sent me an email that detailed several steps to try to overcome the glitch. I have the desktop version. If you make it to the "Lets get your forms screen" > go to your search bar and click on the sliders in the far left corner. "Local network" or  I slid mine off and back on.  it allowed me to go to the next screen and it showed all my accounts at merrill. If i only choose one download, it works.
Can I get a 8962 form to fill out to send to IRS?
I installed new windows on my home in December 2025. Am I eligible for the home energy tax credit? What information do I need in order to qualify?
She did get 1098-T.  Box 1 is $7100 and box 5 is $5300, but $7100 includes room and board, so technically, she has some taxable scholarships - about $2300 no, our income is not over 180000

You will enter your Form 1099-G in the Wages and Income section of TurboTax, and then Other Common Income and then Other 1099-G Income. On the screen that says What Kind of Payment did you Receive, you will answer Agricultural Program Payment . On the Form 1099-G entry screen enter your agricultural payments in box 7. On another screen TurboTax will ask you if the income is for farm rental or just farm, pick the one that applies to you.   After you complete the Form 1099-G entry, go to the Self-employment income section in TurboTax, under Wages and Income and find your farm that TurboTax set up and update that section to enter your farm expenses.

An LLC can be filed in a lot of different ways.  The easiest way for you to file it and get the credit for your loss is to file a schedule C for this year.  If you start making a profit at the business then it will be better to file as a partnership or an S-Corp or something.  But for this year just a sole-proprietorship.   Scroll down in the wages and income section to 'Business Items' and click 'start' next to 'Business Income and Expenses'.  Enter all of the information about your LLC here and then enter the expenses that you had for 2025.  You'll take that loss against all of your other income to reduce your tax bill for this year.
