My husband and I are remodeling a condo and funding it though IRA/401k withdrawals. One of the pension plans we are withdrawing from has a very long lead time (3 months) to make withdrawals, and we need the funds sooner to keep the project on track. Can we withdraw the funds from one IRA and repay them when the delayed withdrawal occurs (it will be more than 60 days). One possibility would be to withdraw from my husband's IRA, repay it within the 60 days from my IRA, then repay my IRA when the 401K distribution is received? Does this allow us to accomplish our goal of using the delayed funds sooner?

If you have a lump sum listed on your SSA-1099 because of back pay, enter the SSA-1099 onto your 2025 return.  You will claim and pay the tax on the additional income, but you do have two options concerning the additional back pay.  You can claim and pay the additional back pay as if it was just part of your yearly benefit. If there is no tax on your Social Security, you would take this option. If the additional back pay puts you into a higher tax bracket, you might use the second option which is to pay the tax that "would have" applied had you gotten the pay in the proper year.  Either way, it is done on your 2025 tax return, YOU DO NOT AMEND YOUR TAXES.   To use the second option, the program will help you determine the amount of tax you would have been charged for the year(s) the payments apply to, and add that tax to your 2025 return.    HERE is an IRS link with more information HERE is a TurboTax link with more information.     @kmarwitz

Are you referring to the Fairness Act which passed last year and gave you a retroactive amount for Social Security for both 2024 and going forward---2025?

Some more info on the last month rule and testing.  I believe the last month rule only applies if you had coverage on Dec 1 but did not have it for the entire year.  Coverage on Dec 1 allows you to make full HSA contributions for the year, BUT you are then subject to the testing period.   If you had coverage for ALL of 2024, then you are not subject to the testing period and the last month rule does not apply.

It depends on your military status. The offer valid for active duty and reservists of an enlisted rank (E-1 through E-9) with a W2 from DFAS.    If you are a Commissioned Officer (O-rank), Warrant Officer (W-rank), or a Veteran/Retiree, you no longer qualify for the "Free" military offer. You may receive a small discount (often 20% via USAA), but the federal and state filing will not be $0.   If you are still eligible for the discount, you can sign up here. Discount applied when you're ready to file.

@ksayeau Maybe there's some kind of override there? You can remove any overrides by selecting Edit > Form Overrides > Cancel all Overrides.
