For the online TurboTax, I loaded the 1099-R documents today.  The 1099-R section still has a message available soon.  However, I noticed TurboTax calculated my income and taxes based on the information in the 1099-R documents.  I'll check next week if the 1099 R section is available in Turbo Tax and how the documents are displayed that I loaded today.

OK.  What about reporting it as interest income and check the box for "not on a 1099-INT"?   I would not expect a 1099-INT.  The reporting threshold for a 1099-INT is $5, not $600.  However, I believe there is an IRS ruling that account opening incentive payments should be treated as other income and not interest.  Ongoing bonus payments might be interest but not the new account incentive.  Still, they might report it.

Said January 21st which is today an starts at midnight. Still not available!!! Never had this issue before being this late in January so must be the lack of competence on TT's side in getting this done. Been using TT for over 20 years and this will without a doubt be the last year. H&R probably.

After completing all Income steps and clicking "Done with Income," TurboTax freezes, crashes and restarts every time.   I've traced the issue down to my W-2 - Box 12, Code AA.   I maxed my Roth 401k contribution for 2025 at $23,500 which is entered in Box 12, Code AA.   With this set accurately at 23,500, TurboTax crashes when I click "Done with Income." If I lower it to a value 23,000 or lower, I am able to click "Done with Income" and move on to Deductions.   I appreciate any ideas since I am unable to file with this issue. Thanks!

Well here it is 1/21, a month after I bought what I thought was functional software, which it is NOT.   TT still doesn't work.  Don't sell your software if it doesn't work, pretty simple really.   We're used to "updates" but not entire sections failing to function.  I've been using TT for a long time but this is the last year I pay your inflated price for broken software.  I was a software developer and would NEVER EVER release a product and take money for it knowing it did not work.  SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!
It is Jan 21st and nothing updated yet.  I also tried that link, and it shows nothing. how do i get my Soc Sec info in and a 1099 R?

I didn’t post it in here because I was following the documentation in the turbo blogs on how to self resolve before I even contacted customer service. In the end that didn’t work so I contacted customer service. The first agent I had the hardest time understanding. By the second sentence she told me she needs to log into my pc to check and I explained that I was doing this through the trunk tax app on mobile. Her response was, I can’t help, call back when you have desktop. When I asked to maybe speak with management so they can look at my account, she also responded with I can’t help with that back. When I asked for her name and how to spell it she hung up.  I called back and got another gentlemen while more well mannered he pretty much said the same things as the previous agent but was nice enough to get me to management at least. After a forty minute wait I was connected with someone in escalations/conflict resolution who really liked to talk and especially talk over me. After a while encyclopedic series of words, I figured out my answer was also that they can’t/wont help and had mentioned that I have to go pick up children and needed to get off the phone since I’ve already been on it for nearly two hours and this gentleman decided to talk more and faster like he was pitching me a time share.    My point is after HOURS of attempting to self resolve through documentation/faqs/turboblog and contact customer service for help my issue was still not resolved. If I have to ask a bunch of internet strangers for advice on these things I may as well just file the paper tax form instead of having turbo tax take hundreds of dollars to not help me.
I have a question my school didn’t give me that information EIN and they didn’t give me a 1098 T what do I do no EIN number and it won’t let me complete the section

Thanks @DaveF1006 for quick response. This is going to save quite a lot. I believe for california i'll need to do 540NR.   I've couple of questions on how to file this. Which form will i need to attach to show the calculation of work days for both IRS and CA? Which form will i need to fill to show allocated income for both?   Thanks, Mohit
