Co-Pilot (whatever that is) says: "As of early 2025, Turbo Tax has not yet made the updated Form 4684 available for filing. Users have reported messages indicating the form will be available after February 20, 2025. Turbo Tax is working on updating the form to reflect new IRS rules, but until then, users may face delays if they need to file using Form 4684."   So I guess I'm stuck, until then.

I simply made a more conscious effort to eliminate things that I didn't truly need. I gave myself grace and maintained balance by allowing myself to buy things that I wanted but through a more conscious buying process. My husband and I saved a lot more and plan to continue these behaviors into 2026!

You can only qualify for a credit up to the amount of your tax liability.  This is not the payment you owe when you file, but your overall tax bill.  For example, if you had $5000 of withholding and would normally get a $1000 refund, your tax liability -- what the IRS keeps -- is $4000.  Likewise, if you had $3000 of withholding and owed an extra payment of $1000, your liability is $4000.  The credit can only be applied to your income tax liability, it does not offset self-employment tax or penalties.     If you have not entered all your income, your tax liability may be too low to receive the full credit.  It will be recalculated when you update your income.  Or, if your income is very low or your other credits very high, you might just not owe enough tax to get the full credit.  The unused portion will carry forward to next year.

Here is how you can clear those short-term rental questions from your file, depending on which version you are using. If you use TurboTax Online 1. The simplest method is to use Tax Tools to delete the specific form associated with rentals (Schedule E). 2. Sign in to your return and select Tax Tools from the left-hand menu. 3. In the pop-up window, select Tools and then click Delete a Form. 4. Look for Schedule E (Rental and Royalty Income) or any worksheet that says "Rental" or "Short-Term Rental." 5. Click Delete next to those forms, then confirm. 6. Once deleted, click Continue or Return to Summary. This should clear those questions. If you use TurboTax Desktop (CD/download) 1. You have access to "Forms Mode," which shows you exactly what is triggering the questions.   2. Check the left sidebar for Schedule E or a Rental Worksheet. 3. To open the form, simply click on it. 4. If the form is present, go to the Forms menu at the top of your computer screen and select Remove [Form Name]. 5. Return to step-by-step mode to complete your return. If TurboTax still asks about it after you delete the form, check the following two areas: Previous Year Import: If you imported data from last year and unintentionally checked a rental box, it may be attempting to "carry over" that information. Income Slips: Sometimes entering a 1099-MISC or 1099-K with specific box entries (such as Box 3 "Other Income") can result in the "Is this rental income?" interview. If you have one of these, review the follow-up questions for that particular slip.     Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
I was mistaken btw for Underpayment Penalties it is still pending for "February likely sooner"
