I have the same issue.  It looks like the calculations were correct but then Turbotax filled with a limit of 1,000,000 instead of 750,000.  I don't qualify for the 1,000,000.
I have started my taxes but the extra is not showing on my standard deduction...only the standard deduction. I am over 65, filing head of household with 2 dependents. Any reason why???

I didn’t have the option to group slips and edit dates in the online version till December 2025. However this would have been really helpful. Past is past. But I have a suggestion. I am a UX designer and I have a solution to fix this user pain point. If you can connect me to the tech team I would be happy to discuss the fix.

It depends.  Do you get ssi or Social Security?  ssi is for Supplemental Security Income not Social Security. You do not get a SSA-1099 for ssi. You do not report ssi at all.    Wait until you get the SSA-1099 later this month.  If you get a SSA-1099 you have to report that.   But if you ONLY get SSI or Social Security or Social Security Disability or a SSA-1099 or RRB-1099 for railroad retirement you do not have to file a return. And there is no benefit to itemizing deductions.

Thanks for the information. Perhaps you could guide me on how to calculate the value. The property passed to us after my mother's passing in 09/2021. There was no will, and legal papers were not completed until 2022. In 2024 my sister had the property appraised ($140). It sold for $165(2 siblings) in 09/2025. The property was vacant all the time.  We paid utilities, taxes (PR) & maintenance all the time. I'm concerned about the upcoming estimated tax payment, as I feel it should cover any possible capital gain related to that transaction, and I don't know how to start the calculation.  Will appreciate any feedback.

Yes, I am and I know that it's an IRS program.   I haven't been successful in speaking to a live IRS agent in years. The IRS voice response system is clearly designed to eliminate the need for live agents. Even called a local IRS office routes the call to the same system.   I asked here hoping that someone else has already broken the code on why this glitch is occurring and had discovered a solution.
I received $6960 in SSI benefits in 2025

If you are referring to a 6-digit IP PIN, that was issued by the IRS.  TurboTax has nothing to do with that number--ask the IRS. Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Fri... See more...

You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
They aren't ready yet.  But  Go to Federal Deductions and Credits Scroll down to Charitable Donations Donations to Charity in 2025
I got my CY 2026 IP PIN issued today (January 6th) and it is the same number I received for CY 2025.   Has anyone else encountered this glitch?
How can I add my personal donations?

Go back though My Info and check all the questions for baby.  Especially these 2. There is one that asks "...was at least half of child's expenses paid by CHILD"? Usually is NO, Child didn't pay for more than half of their living expenses.    Also that their ssn is valid for employment.

You are answering something incorrectly in MY INFO.   Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.
