This is a difficult situation.  I think the best thing to do is to file the return as is and include a letter explaining what happened and asking the IRS for guidance in this situation.  There isn't really any way to include only half of the FICA taxes on the return.   As other options you can enter the income from the W2 as self-employment income and pay the full amount of payroll taxes due.  Then your employer would just have to reimburse you.     Or you can demand that corrected W2C.  But you would need to pay back to your employer your half of the FICA in order for them to send it in and issue the corrected form.   @audreyrosemary11
Can the e-filing be done only with Turbotax Online and will this make my return late?

Approximately four years ago, I submitted my Form 1040 via TurboTax on time for the 2020 year. Now I want to amend my 2020 return and add $3,000 gift income. Which forms do I need to fill out? Should I do this myself? I think I will owe a little bit of money to the U.S. Treasury, so will I pay with a check from my checking account? Can you tell me what I need to do?   Thanks.
Do I need to file an amended return for a roughly $250 increase in Qualified Dividends, on line 1b, as a result of a late (4-16-25) correction sent over from my brokerage firm?

Did you receive a Netfile confirmation from CRA when you filed your return? To ensure that your return has been filed, we advise you to return to "filing Hub" and follow the filing instructions once more. The CRA's goal is to send you a notice of assessment, as well as any refund, within two weeks when you file online. eight weeks, when you file a paper. You can get the funds deposited in your account if you have a direct deposit set up with CRA; otherwise, a check will be mailed out.  For more information, please refer to the CRA link.   Thanks for choosing TurboTax.

Based on your description of your 2023 and 2024 tax returns, everything seems to be in order with no amended returns needed.

Line 43500 is the total amount you're being taxed for the year. Your total payable is the amount of federal and provincial or territorial taxes that you owe before you subtract your total credits (line 48200). 43500 is the total amount payable, meaning the amount you need to pay INCLUDING what you've already paid via deductions from your paycheck. The next set of lines determines how much you've already paid. As the others have said, look at 48400 and 48500 for the amount owing or to be refunded. It depends on your earned income how much you need to pay.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
You can leave the line with Code V blank.   A few screens later, you will get another screen that will ask for the details of the 199A information.

In TurboTax desktop, the FHSA and RRSP are part of the Registered Savings Plans section, and if you don't have one, you simply don't fill out any information and click continue.   If you are using TurboTax online, you should not get that section unless you checked the box in your Tax profile. From the welcome screen you can click on Tax Profile and verify that these questions are not checked off.      Thank you for choosing TurboTax

Yes.  You need to amend your tax return.   First, go to your tax return and delete the extra information that you entered.  You made changes to your tax return without amending it.   Next leave the tax return and go to your TurboTax account and then click the 'amend' button for your 2024 return.     Now add all of the 1095-A stuff back in to your return.  It will generate a 1040-X and an 8962 and if you filed the original return electronically you can file this one electronically as well.   Here's more information on amending a tax return.   @freddytax
