ok yes I suppose anything is possible, reflecting on 2025 they've been pretty aggressive cutting bait on Win 10 (waffling on security but basically saying they didn't expect enough uptake on ESU - see post below), ItsDeductible (apparently only 100k users), also Desktop Basic edition (no idea user count but presumably the easiest overlap with online).  Desktop user base declines 4-5% annually, down to 4.3mil as of July 2025 and these changes will probably add up to another big leg down in the next year, while online revenue keeps on trucking.  No idea the Mac share, 25% on average in the US? - so not impossible for them to say the same thing about Mac at some point.  We'll have to see.  Meanwhile personally I'll keep riding the train as far as it goes (provided they don't screw up the 1099 workflow any more)   https://investors.intuit.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/1266/intuit-reports-strong-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-fiscal-2025-results-sets-fiscal-2026-guidance-with-double-digit-revenue-growth-and-continued-operating-margin-expansion   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/articles/community-news-announcements/turbotax-windows-10-desktop-software-end-of-life/05/3708302

¿Consultaste la página web de tu estado para preguntar sobre tu reembolso? La página del IRS no tiene esa información.

I'm having trouble with the automatic depreciation calculations for our business tax return.  Last year's projected depreciation showed $11,700 on one of our vehicles for the 2024 year.  We're working on the FY 2024 return now and Turbo Tax is only showing $3,742 for the vehicle depreciation amount.  We had the vehicle all year, so don't know why the amount would be different than projected.

I have to complete Form W-4P for a pension I will be receiving. Section/Step 2 of the form is providing info on my other income & other pensions. I am currently employed and will continue to be employed when I receive this pension and I already receive other pensions. The form is asking for these other income amounts to help calculate withholding but I already have withholding on on my employment income and  I already have withholding on all my ither pensions. on my other pensions. So I am not sure how to fill in Step 2 and what amounts to put if any since I have already done witholding on all the pensions EXCEPT for the new one that I am about to receive and am doing thos paperwork for. Thanks for your guidance.
No. This software is terrible and I will never use it again.

You can select Switch to Free Edition instead. In the Turbo Tax Free Edition, information that you can enter is limited now.  Why do I have to upgrade from the Free Edition? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/upgrading/help/why-do-i-have-to-upgrade-from-free-edition/00/26379 Or try the IRS Free File program https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free

Then if they took out 20% you might get the excess back when you file your tax return.    You will get a 1099R in January to enter into your tax return.    You don't actually pay the tax or the 10% penalty (you pay a 10% early withdrawal penalty if you are under 59 ½). You have taxes withheld like from your paycheck. You still have to enter the whole gross amount (before taxes were withheld) with your other income to figure out the total tax (and it may put you into a higher tax bracket) and then the withholding is subtracted from the total tax to figure your refund or tax due. The Gross amount shows up on 1040 line 4a or 5a and the taxable amount on 4b/5b. The withholding will show up on 1040 line 25b.

If I am 60 years old, why am I being charged 20% instead of 10%?
Also, when i do sell and theres no avarage cost price, how does one know how much they made?
I am 60 years old and tried to do an early withdrawal, they charged 20%. I called to confirm and yes it is 20%, not 10%.

My W2 withholdings for 2025 is less than 2024.  As an independent contractor in healthcare, I am not even sure what to deduct.    I have never used a CPA service besides doing turbotax myself since I was strictly a W-2 income until this year.  What are red flags for a bad CPA?  I would need to start an LLC first to get to an S-corp in Virginia.  Is it too late to start an LLC since I already made income as an independent contractor?
