By "protection" do you mean MAX or audit support?   That add-on feature does not help you get your refund any faster.   That is not the purpose of the "protection" ---which is intended as support if you get audited after your return has been fully processed or to help you with issues related to identity theft.   WHAT IS MAX   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-product-orders/max/L0Bc4Ve2l_US_en_US?uid=m76e6cmo       To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954.   Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst
Every time I've tried to post a links this system doesn't allow it.
My mortgage interest is not showing either. Have you been able to solve this problem?

See this: FAQ:  Sign-in temporarily locked https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/small-business-processes/sign-temporarily-locked/L8AsL2eXE_US_en_US   Wait at least 14 minutes.   If you don't remember your log-in credentials (or you could have multiple accounts without realizing it), here's how to recover account access:   To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:          Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

@ cp246  and @ user17600572091  Several desktop users have reported that problem with the IP PIN section this afternoon/evening. If you are using desktop software, you can also enter the 6-digit IP PIN in Forms Mode on the Federal Information Worksheet, Part VII.    Go to Forms Mode, and in the left column forms list choose "Info Wks".   That should be the Federal Information Worksheet.   Scroll down to Part VII, and the IP PIN should be the first item in that part of the worksheet.    Please report back if that worked for you.   Also, is your software up to date?
Contact her employer for a replacement
Did you mistakenly enter the rollover as an IRA contribution, resulting in an excess contribution penalty being present on Schedule 2 line 8 and carrying forward to Form 1040 line 23?
I have the same issue!  Please let me know if you get an answer.
Hello, I am unable to navigate on TurboTax to the step-by-step area for walking me through input for the Form 2210 Sch AI.  Thank you

My tax return was rejected b/c I forgot to enter my IP PIN. I went back into my return to correct the problem. I navigated to the "Personal" tab; selected "Other Tax Situations" and scrolled down to "Other Return Info." When I clicked on "Start" I got the following message: "Hmm, looks like we've hit a snag. We recommend you revisit the last topic you were working on to make sure all your info's correct."   I have tried clicking through all topics and sections again and have also restarted the software, but I continue to get the same message when I attempt to enter my IP PIN. The only difference now is the button has changed from "Start" to "Update" next to the "Identity protection PIN" section.
Will look for another tax program now

I was supposed to get my adjustment letter this week from September 19 but I still haven’t received it yet so I guess maybe I need to call the IRS

"It was the next line that reads "Include any IRA contributions [name] made or will make in 2025 for 2024" that caused me confusion."   This is in regard to entering your contributions, not to entering the FMV.   "the FMV (Line 5) is blank"   This is presumably indicating that you had no money in this traditional IRA on 12/31/2024. A SEP IRA is a type of traditional IRA, so it's value must be included in the total FMV (and in this case would be the total amount to be entered).   The recharacterized contribution reported on the code-R 2024 Form 1099-R should have been reflected on your 2023 tax return.  You can enter this form into 2024 TurboTax, but 2024 TurboTax will ignore it other than to remind you that it should have been reflected on your 2023 tax return, with the result being a traditional IRA contribution, presumably nondeductible reported on your 2023 Form 8606.

Greetings, Charles Schwab reported the 2024 maturity of a Treasury security on Form 1099-B.  For this question, let's say I purchased it at $900 and it matured at $1,000.  I uploaded the 1099 electronically on TurboTax.  TurboTax reflects the proceeds and cost basis on line 1b of Schedule D and the $100 difference they reported as a negative $100 on that same line in column g (so no gain for this item flows from Schedule D to the 1040).  TurboTax then placed the $100 on Schedule B as "US Treasury Interest *Matured* Accrued Market Discount" and from there it flows up to the 1040 as taxable interest income. On the California return TurboTax did not include the $100 on the CA Interest and Dividend Adjustment Worksheet, so the amount is being taxed by CA. I am looking for a way to fix this if one exists. Any help with a fix or informing me that the only solution is an override.  I already have an amount on the CA Int-Div Adj WS on Line 1 Col B (I think this is the actual interest I received on the bond. Many thanks for any suggestions.
You can still maximize a 401(k) with your W-2 income and then separately contribute to a SEP IRA based on your self-employment (1099) income.
