I don’t get it, the cost of TurboTax keeps going up but key items, such as this, are being eliminated!!!! How does TurboTax justify this? I get not everyone uses this feature, but I’m banking at least 80-90% of TurboTax users do use it!!! I have been downsizing since march, donating to goodwill and library. I still have more to go. How does upper mgt suggest I track my donations, get fair market value without looking up on the internet? That’s going to add time to my already busy life! I think it’s a bad idea and the powers to be should be ashamed of themselves!!! I have been using TurboTax for 20+ years and I guess it’s time to move on!!!! Turbo is going to lose a lot of customers over this!!!!

sort of strange because your name should have been on the direct deposit refund and most financial institutions don't allow such a deposit unless your name is on the account. Did you use a Turbotax rep to prepare your return and how do you know it was deposited in their account?

Please clarify how your direct deposit got put in the wrong account. The previous replies, from DoninGA and xmasbaby0, assume that you entered the wrong account number when you filed your tax return. Is that what happened? If so, see the previous replies. If not, what did happen that caused your direct deposit to go to the wrong account? How do you know that it was put in the wrong account?
Did you use the option to have your TurboTax fees paid from your refund?

@drs289 wrote: the gain is separated between depreciation recapture and long term capital gains. Some articles only mention that the capital gains portion is eligible, while other articles say that unrecaptured Section 1250 gain, which is the depreciation recapture, is also eligible. Unrecaptured Section 1250 Gain (gain due to straight-line depreciation) is NOT "recapture". As the phrase itself says, it is "unrecaptured". Unrecaptured Section 1250 Gain is a Capital Gain. Because it is a Capital Gain, it qualifies for Qualified Opportunity treatment.

You can no longer use TurboTax Online to file for 2023. TurboTax Online is only for the current tax year, which is now 2024. To file for 2023 you have to use the desktop TurboTax software for 2023. You can purchase a download at the following link. There is no free filing for past years.
Past Years' Products
The desktop TurboTax software can only be used on a Windows or Mac computer, not on a mobile device or a Chromebook.
Tax returns for past years cannot be e-filed. You will have to print your 2023 tax return, sign it, and file it by mail. When you file by mail you have to attach copies of your W-2s and any W-2G or 1099-R that has tax withheld. We suggest that you mail it by certified mail with a return receipt so that you get tracking and confirmation of delivery. Mail your federal and state tax returns in separate envelopes, because they go to different places. Follow the filing instructions that TurboTax prints.

Microsoft is not charging to upgrade from a licensed Windows 10 PC to Windows 11 is FREE from Microsoft, provided your PC meets the minimum hardware requirements and is running the latest version of Windows 10. You can check your PC's eligibility by going to Settings and selecting "Check for updates". If your device is ready, you'll see an option to download and install the Windows 11 upgrade. For the 2025 tax year, TurboTax Desktop will require Windows 11 because Microsoft is ending support for the Windows 10 operating system in October 2025. Intuit, the developer of TurboTax, cites security as a top priority for ending support for the older operating system. Intuit notified customers of the change by email and on its support website, stating the following: Microsoft's end of support: On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop providing free software updates, security patches, and technical support for Windows 10. Security risks: Intuit says it will no longer support an operating system that doesn't receive security updates from its manufacturer. Compatibility with Windows 11: The 2025 version of TurboTax Desktop will only be compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows 11.

Notice that they seem to have the funds for their ridiculous badge program. I just earned my "First Reply" badge and could care less about the badge or the added, totally unnecessary, email.
