There is confusion here.   If you want to file today (May 1), just file.  The IRS will apply your extension automatically based on your address.  Don't worry if turbotax thinks you are late.    If you want to request a further extension to October 15, you must mail a copy of form 4868 requesting an extension, and it must be postmarked today.  You may want to use a mail service that includes proof of mailing and proof of delivery.  (Turbotax can't process an electronic request for extension after April 15, but the IRS will give it to you based on your address if you apply by mail.)

I know that many times, the support team does not get the thanks they deserve. I was on the phone with a gentleman from support and was amazed at his knowledge. His name was Doug and he works in your support team. he was great and even taught me things about the computer that I did not know. he really know what he was doing and made me feel very comfortable working with him. He made sure that everything was working right with each step. I am retired division manager and if I had an employee like that, that would have made my job so much easier. thank you for all your help Doug. You are a great asset to your company.

In turbotax, you had the options of "pay by myself (check or other)", or "pay from a credit card" or "pay from a bank account."  If you aren't sure what you picked, download, view or print your tax return file.  The first page of the federal return and the first page of your state return has instructions regarding payment, if you need to make a payment.     If you selected credit card or bank account, that charge should be processed within a couple of days of filing.   If you selected you would pay yourself, by mail or other, you need to make your own payment.  Easiest is to go to www.irs.gov/payments.  Also check to see if you need to make a tax payment to your state.
Où est la catégorie de dépenses "frais de télécommunications" qui correspond à la ligne 238 du T1? Je ne la trouve pas dans TurboImpôt en ligne.
I don't recall agreeing to another company stealing my refund after already paying TurboTax to file

If you move due to a listed "hardship" you can use a partial exclusion.  Since you need to have lived there 24 months to get the full exclusion, if you sell in 8 months, you qualify for 8/24th the normal exclusion, which is $83,333 if filing single or $166,666 if filing married filing jointly.  (Roughly speaking.  The exact percentage is determined by the number of days you owned the home, or the number of days since you last used the exclusion, whichever is shorter.) Any gain over that is taxable.     Your basis appears to be 285K plus 20K =305K.  So how much gain you have will depend on the selling price.   You can also adjust your gain by certain expenses of buying and selling, see publication 523. https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-publication-523

Your startup expenses are just added up and saved until you launch.  You don't have to wait until you make money but you should be able to demonstrate that you are trying to make money.  At that point you can deduct a portion of your startup costs ($5000 as long as the total doesn't exceed $50,000) and then deduct the rest of them over five years.   @joecrail
It is too late for 2025.  You had until April 15.  You can make the election now for 2026.   @4ever1505
Yes.  The guaranteed payments are subject to expenses and you lost 18 grand so you are only paying tax on the difference.   @eemr19841

New York follows the federal law in that you will get a partial exclusion on the gain of the sale of your home on both your federal and state tax returns.     TurboTax will have you enter the dates that you purchased and the dates that you sell and will give you credit for that 20K you spent on remodeling as well as any additional costs of the sale.  Based on the information you have entered you'll get around a third of the exclusion or 80K or so.     That means that you will only pay tax on the amount above 385K that you receive (minus costs of the sale).  Or thereabouts.   Good luck!   @naiomi82
