You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
So what’s happened? How long did it take to get your refund ?

I tried several ways, still could not find the question of "whether you materially participated" ?  Is there any way you could provide more info, e.g. several screenshots before that question showed up in turboTax software?   If you guys have a direct line I could call, that will speed things up a lot. My number is [phone number removed]. email: [email address removed].   Thanks.

Email is not one of the ways to contact TurboTax.      If you started a 2023 return last year using online software but did not file the return, you will need to use the desktop download software on a full PC or Mac to finish preparing the return, and then file it by mail.  E-filing is permanently closed for 2023 returns.    You will be able to access the 2023 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2024  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2023 returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2023 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 9p.m. Pacific time daily   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.           If you did not even start a 2023 return, then use this:   You cannot change the tax year.   The current online program is for 2024 only.   Only a 2024 return can be prepared online and only a 2024 return can be e-filed.   Online preparation and e-filing for 2021, 2022, and  2023 is permanently closed. Note:  The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac.  It cannot be used on a mobile device.   To file a return for a prior tax year  If you need to prepare a return for 2021, 2022, or 2023  you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s) https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/ You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.   Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-revenue/L9qVToi02_US_en_US?uid=m6e06um0   When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.   You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.   First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/ If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?  (Allow 24 - 48 hours after acceptance to look) https://www.irs.gov/refunds            Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?” Or “Rejected?” Or “Printed?”

has your business started? this usually requires some action to alert potential clients that your open. if not, even your startup expenses aren't currently deductible.
It'll probably be time to elect a new POTUS before the case ever gets heard.

@rjford-author wrote: AGI keeps getting rejected. Had filed previous years jointly while married. Filed on my own for the first time ever 2024. Rejected, Because of AGI, Error. Correct number I have pulled the correct numbers from previous tax year. But it keeps getting rejected. I’ve been rejected three times now. My tax is very simple now that I am single, TurboTax has been useless to with any support at this point. If your 2023 return was a joint return, for the first efile attempt one would normally use the full AGI from 2023, without dividing it; i.e., the amount on your 2023 Form 1040, Line 11.  It should be from the original 2023 return (not an amended one, if any.)   I assume that's what you tried, so if you received an AGI efile rejection, you can now try using a 2023 AGI of 0 (zero) to see if that works.    The 0 works especially if the return was filed real late in the year; i.e., too late to get into the IRS database.    At other times no one knows the reason it doesn't match the IRS database, but trying AGI of 0 often works.

Turbotax can't help because it's the IRS computers that are rejecting your return even when you've entered the proper AGI. if you tried zero or the option never previously filed, if available, then it's likely you'll have to mail it.   there only other step you can take is to contact the IRS to see if they can explain the issue.   Call 800-829-1040 1) Choose your language, 2) Then choose option 2 3) Then 1 4) Then 3 5) Then 2 6) When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN do nothing – wait - - After it asks twice, you will get another menu 7) Then 2 😎 Then 3 It should then transfer you to an agent. Note when its phone line are busy you may be on hold for a long while or disconnected

Thanks @DawnC . I followed your directions, but I don't see my 2017 documents there.
I appreciate your note! Unfortunately, none of the fields have zeroes so I’m still not sure what the error is.
