If you have an IRA penalty, TurboTax may ask for that value. Be on the lookout for wrongly applied penalties due to 2024 TurboTax issues.   @burner718

Do you need to file 2023?  Sorry it's too,late to start a 2023 or prior online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2023. To do a prior year return you have to buy the Desktop program here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on.   If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand.  Here are some basic forms..... Here is the 2023 1040 return https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2023.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2023.pdf 2023 1040 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2023.pdf 2023 EIC and Tax Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2023.pdf Schedules 1-3 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2023.pdf Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns.  So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them.  You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places.  Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing. Then when you file for 2024 you need to enter 0 for the 2023 AGI since you are filing 2023 late.
@Tracita If you see a lock next to a box, you can enter an amount, but you'll be required to upgrade the version of TurboTax Online that you are using.

First, please make sure that you have purchased the right product. The codes for TurboTax Online will not work with TurboTax Desktop & vice-versa.   Second, if you bought TurboTax at a retailer (Costco, Walmart, Staples, etc…), please make sure that you are using the code that came in the package. It may be on a slip of paper or on a scratch-off card. It is not on the outside of the box or on your receipt.   If you have bought TurboTax Online, please go to turbotax.ca/activate to use your code before you start your returns. You can see this TurboTax FAQ for step-by-step instructions: In TurboTax Online, how do I use a prepayment code? Please note that you can only use the code once in one account. Using the code again will give an error message.   If you have bought TurboTax Desktop, you will be asked for the licence code when you install the software. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for more information on the licence code: Where is my TurboTax licence code? You can download the current version of TurboTax Desktop edition here: Choose the current TurboTax Desktop edition you need (for Windows). If you transferred your 2023 information into TurboTax Online 2024, then you'll see a year over year comparison during the Review.  
Sorry for your loss. we eventually hired an accountant to deal with the issue of my dad's post-death and post-tax filing income.   Unfortunately,  I don't recall the specifics.   good luck

I entered all information for 2025 joint tax return, completed all steps and filed electronically on 3/22.  It was accepted and then nothing happened.  Called IRS on 4/11 and learned it required some attention and I should have received a letter.  Phone agent generated new letter to be mailed on 4/12.  It was sent 4/17 and required me to log into IRS and verify the  petition because it had not been done.  I did this and it indicates wait of up to 9 months for processing. None of this was my fault.  I completed all steps and the program said it was ready to file.  It was filed. I indicated that I would pay for early refund receipt, etc.   I'm not getting the services and I will file a protest for such charges.

Impossible d'enregistrer le formulaire TPF-1.U en format PDF Même si la liste des pièces jointes à la déclaration inclut le formulaire TPF-1.U, votre déclaration est complète dans ce formulaire et vous pouvez la soumettre au ministère du Revenu du Québec. @cpsharma15 Country #1 and country #2 can be whatever country you need, except for the US. You can specify the name of the country on the Foreign tax credit page, or the FTC worksheet in Forms mode. If you have amounts from more than one country, you can label it Global.    If you are in Forms Mode, Box 207 is on T5013-4. In EasyStep Mode it's near the bottom of the page.    
I have been following this thread and very disappointed as to WHY Easy Steps can't doe this , and Turbo Tax is forcing the customer to go to the forms route !!

Je ne suis pas capable de soumettre ma déclaration et celle de mon mari. Ca dit que le formulaire tp80 est ouvert et qu’il y a des entrées directes. Il n’y a aucun revenu d’entreprise et il n’y en a jamais eu. J’ai fermé les formulaires tp80 et t2125 et ça ne fonctionne pas. Toujours pas capable de soumettre. C’est vraiment frustrant. Ce logiciel fonctionne vraiment mal cette année.
