Your basis is what you paid for the vehicle, less any depreciation you took. If you used the standard mileage rate, it is the total of the depreciation component of the mileage you deducted. The depreciation component of the IRS standard mileage rate represents the portion of the rate that reduces your vehicle's cost basis over time, even though you do not deduct it separately. For 2026, this amount is 35 cents per mile. For 2025, it was 33 cents, and for 2024 it was 30 cents per mile. Depreciation Rates: 2026 Depreciation Component: 35 cents per mile (based on 72.5 cents total rate). 2025 Depreciation Component: 33 cents per mile (based on 70 cents total rate). 2024 Depreciation Component: 30 cents per mile (based on 67 cents total rate). The depreciation allowed is calculated by multiplying the business miles driven by the rate for that specific year (e.g., 10,000 miles in 2024 x 0.30 = $3,000 of depreciation.

When you set up a payment to be taken from your account, you can select a date. If you did not then the program will set the payment to come out on April 15. To check what date you selected:
Log into your account
Select Add a State to open the return
Go to Tax Tools
Print Center to view your tax return/worksheets
The payment date is listed on the Federal Information Worksheet, or defaults to April 15th if none was chosen.

No. The overtime deduction is not for the full overtime amount. Each state has different laws for how it is paid. For the federal overtime deduction, it is only the overtime paid after working 40 hours. It is only the half over your base pay that is deductible. What is in box 14 is supposed to be what meets the federal rules. You may need to contact your employer about any difference and if a corrected w2 needs to be issued.

If you got a notice from the IRS after you filed your tax return, that doesn't necessarily mean that you have a balance due. Sometimes they send letters because they need to verify your information, or they have made changes to your return.
See the TurboTax help article below for more information about IRS notices and what to do.

It depends what sort of bonds you held - look at the bonds in the 1099B detail reporting if you had any capital gains on these - I'm not familiar with MD state tax but generally US Obligations refers to things like Treasury Bills, Notes, Strips; or Federal Home Loan Bank etc; but not Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae. see following - but I'm not sure if there is a more recent version of this release https://www.marylandcomptroller.gov/content/dam/mdcomp/tax/legal-publications/administrative-releases/income-and-estate-tax/ar_it13.pdf

The first page of your tax return PDF is the Filing instructions - that page will show the account and amount you have scheduled. It normally takes the IRS a few days to take the payment, but it is effective the date you scheduled it, and confirmed by your e-file acceptance receipt.
