@ angietoad wrote: Why does it just say ready to mail? I wanted turbo tax to efile. Does "it" refer to a Missouri state return like the title of this old thread from 3 years ago?   For this answer I'll assume that is the case, and will also assume this is a 2025 return that you recently prepared.     If the status at the Tax Home says "ready to mail", that means you either did not successfully complete the efile process or chose the "file by mail" option.   If you didn't actually physically print, sign, date, and mail it, you can change the filing method and file by efile.    Here's how:   To change the filing method on an unfiled 2025 return, at the Tax Home page you first need to open your return interview back up.   Look for a link "Add a State."   That doesn't really add one, but will open up the return.  If you are referring to a state return, then I would look through the state return and run the state review to be sure nothing has changed with the weekly updates.   If you haven't already done so, you should print out the state return and review it before efiling.  Then you can go to the FILE section and choose to efile the state return.   Be sure you continue all the way through that section until you get to a screen with a big orange "Transmit Returns Now" button and actually click on it to transmit.   NOTE:   You didn't mention anything about your Federal return.  You cannot efile the state return if you did not efile the Federal return, or if the Federal return efile was not accepted.   If for some reason you mailed the Federal return, you would also have to mail the state return.   This FAQ may also have some info that will help: FAQ:  How do I change from mail to efile in Online TurboTax? https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/e-file/help/how-do-i-change-from-mail-to-e-file-in-turbotax-online...

I can't help you with the website problem you are experiencing, but since you asked for blank vouchers, I found the blank 740-ES on the Kentucky DOR website.  Is this what you want?   https://revenue.ky.gov/Forms/740es%202026.pdf   If so, you may need the instructions, too: https://revenue.ky.gov/Forms/740-ES%20Instructions%20(2025).pdf That link says "2025" in it, but it actually opens up the 2026 instructions.

Yes (and deserve the perk!)--active duty military can get free TurboTax online preparation product and filing IF you meet all the conditions.  If you do, then you can use any edition of Online TurboTax (Free, Deluxe, or Premium) for a free Federal return and free state return.  But add-ons like Expert Assist, PLUS upgrade, etc. are not eligible.   https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/military-edition.jsp   The free Military Discount is for E1-E9 active duty and reservists and excludes National Guard.  You have to have a W-2 from DFAS. Be sure to answer all the military questions in the MY INFO section. After you enter your W-2 and move forward,  you'll likely get a screen to again select that the W-2 was for active duty.   The discount is not applied until you are ready to file.  If it still tries to charge you at the end, do NOT pay.  You would need to resolve that issue first.

Here's a tool in Online TurboTax that should get you directly to the estimated tax payments section to enter payments you made toward your 2025 taxes.    With the return open, go to the left menu column and click on TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS. In the Tools Center choose the blue button Topic Search. In the topic search line enter the phrase estimated tax payments without quotes. Make the selection in the list (it may already be highlighted), and either double-click it or click the GO button. Next screen is Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid. Expand the section Estimated Tax Payments. Choose the appropriate category and tax year you are reporting (Federal, state, local) and click START or Revisit. NOTE:  Before filing, make sure your Federal estimated tax payments correctly show on the Form 1040, Line 26, and that any state estimated tax payments (if applicable) show up on your state return.

I’m married filing jointly in CA and itemizing. I think TurboTax is undercounting our SALT deduction. Our AGI is above 500,000 but my calculations show we should still get about 32000 as a SALT deduction and on Schedule A, it looks closer to 19000. Is there a known glitch? How can I verify that this is being credited correctly?

Could you please help me verify the status of my 2025 tax return? Maybe Turbotax didn't send my state tax document or sent a different amount of refund? How did you file the return?  If you efiled, look to see what the efile status that's showing on your Tax Home page.   Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?   If that confirms it was accepted, then at the Michigan refund lookup tool you will need your tax ID (SSN or FEIN), the tax year, and the state refund amount.   Look at your actual Michigan state return to get the refund amount to use in the tool.   If you have an MI-1040, I believe the refund is shown on Line 39.

I have e been trying to do my taxes from 2022 and your website has still not helped me get my returns.  Please clarify what you are doing in regard to a 2022 return.   Are you trying to prepare a 2022 return in current Online TurboTax, which is only for 2025 returns???   If you need to prepare a 2022 return at this point in time, it has to be in 2022 desktop software installed on a computer--not Online TurboTax.   Or are you trying to find a 2022 online return that you had started previously and download it?   We can tell you more once we understand what all you are doing and need to do, including how to purchase the 2022 desktop software if that's what you need.
