If for some reason it is accepted:
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

Yes, you can update your bank account information as long as your return has not yet been filed or accepted by the IRS.
Go to your TurboTax account to change your direct deposit info by following these steps:
Open or continue your return.
Select File.
Select Start or Revisit or Continue next to Step 2 Your refund/payment info.
Select See all options on the Get your refund screen.
Choose Direct deposit and follow the followers instructions.
After your refund is e-filed and accepted, you cannot make any changes to the return or how your refund is paid. Are you trying to find copies of your 2024 returns? A tax return is the Form 1040 you sent to the IRS. If you get money back that is called a refund. Are you looking for your returns---your 1040-- or are you still looking for a refund that did not arrive?
If you did not get your refund:
DID YOU E-FILE?
Did you e-file? Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

TurboTax Online will use the simplified method to determine the taxable portion for box 2a of your CSA 1099-R. Presume that:
Monthly payments were received,
Payments started in 2025, and
That box 7 is code 7.
You will need to know:
The amount of the employee contributions (should be in box 9b),
The date the annuity started,
The number of months that payments were received in 2025,
The age of the recipient when the annuity started,
The age of other beneficiaries (if there are any), and
Was the recipient under the retirement age for the plan.
Follow these steps:
Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income.
Click on the down arrow to the right of Retirement Plans and Social Security.
Click to the right of IRA 401(k) Pension Plan Withdrawal (1099-R).
At the screen Who gave you a 1099-R, select Office of Personnel Management (CSA 1099-R).
At the screen Annuity information, select Yes for the question Did you get periodic payments from this retirement account on a regular basis?
At the screen Annuity information, select Yes for the question Did you start getting payments in 2025.
At the screen Annuity information, select No for the question For the years you received these distributions, was the total amount shown in the form the amount you paid tax on?
At the screen Annuity information, enter the annuity start date, plan cost, months payments were received and amount recovered in previous years. (This will be $0 if this is the first year that you receive the payment.)
At the screen Annuity Information, Plan Cost should be in box 9b.
At the screen Annuity Information, enter the beneficiary ages.
The taxable amount will be computed by the simplified method.
View Federal 1040 tax return line 5a and 5b at Tax Tools / Tools / View Tax Summary / Preview my 1040.
Select Office of Personnel Management as where the payment is issued. If the software asks, you may report the payment as an RMD.

The information in the TurboTax 1099 R interview section is neither intuitive nor informative. Rollovers are indicated in box 7 (qualified/traditional IRA) and 8 (Roth IRA) on the 1099 R. If, for example, the code in box 7 is "G", that indicates the distribution is a direct rollover to a qualified IRA, so apparently the interview does not ask what you did with the money because the code signifies that the direct rollover distribution is not taxable income. See IRS instructions for Form 1099 R for more information and a table of distribution codes and their meaning.

When you are entering the address for your Schedule C business as a sole proprietor, you should use your home address as shown on your tax return.
You would enter a separate/different address in the case where your business has a specific location where you conduct your business. For example, if your business was a coffee shop or other type of storefront, you would enter the address of the coffee shop.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

As Champ dmertz described previously, if your spouse is not self-employed, the total amount you contributed to her pension plan would be entered under Pension Plan Contributions from the Business Expenses page.
The employee's contributions are included in W-2 wages and reported in Box 12 for the employee's use. W-2 Box 1 wages appear on Schedule C Line 16.
If you are working in Forms Mode (TurboTax Desktop), you can enter two lines on the Schedule C Wks under this topic. This separation would be for your records only. The total goes to Schedule C Line 19.

Only the custodial parent can get the childcare credit.
Are you the custodial parent? Do you have an agreement with the other parent to allow the other parent to claim them--due to divorce or that you live apart and share custody? Did one of you sign a Form 8332?
If there is a signed 8332 then the custodial parent retains the right to file as Head of Household, get earned income credit and the childcare credit. The non-custodial parent gets the child tax credit for children under the age of 17. If the child is 17 or older the non-custodial parent gets the $500 credit for other dependents.
If you and the other parent have a signed agreement, you need to indicate in MY INFO that you have such an agreement.
As far as the IRS is concerned, the custodial parent is the one with whom the child spent the most nights during the tax year--at least 183 nights.

Yes, contributions to a Health Flexible Account (FSA) are excluded from taxable wages reported in box 1 of your form W-2. You do not need to report elsewhere in your tax return. Contributions to a HSA are also excluded from taxable wages. HSAs require a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), are owned by the individual, and roll over indefinitely, allowing for investment. FSAs are typically "use-it-or-lose-it" with yearly limits, owned by the employer, and do not require specific health plans.
