If you're referring to a date provided by TurboTax, that is an estimate based on a common 21-day processing time for most returns, but some are faster, some are slower.     First, be sure you successfully filed, and if efiled, that it was accepted.  Go to the Tax Home and look at the efile status.  What status is shown there?  Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?   It it was efiled and accepted (or if you mailed the return), use the IRS "Where's My Refund" lookup tool at this website: https://www.irs.gov/refunds   NOTE:  If you printed and mailed the return, it can take at least 4 weeks just to show up in that IRS tool.   To use that IRS tool, you will need to enter the correct tax year, your filing status, your SSN, and the Federal refund amount from your Federal 1040, Line 35a.       For the refund amount don't use a summary figure that TurboTax might have showed you on a screen that uses a sum of the Federal and state.   Look at your actual Federal return to get the figure from Form 1040, Line 35a.

When the TurboTax Tax Home shows a return has been "accepted", that's an efile term.  It means that after you efiled, it was in the proper format and accepted for the IRS to begin processing it.  Later on the IRS does not use the word "accepted" at it's "Where's My Refund" tool.  Instead, it has 3 stages: Return received and is being processed Refund approved Refund sent and an expected date provided You didn't say what you are seeing for your refund status at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool: https://www.irs.gov/refunds   If that tool says it is still being processed, then only the IRS knows what all they are doing with your return. Since it's been longer than a month, if you wish, you could phone them to see if you can learn anything about the delay.   They may or may not be able to tell you anything.   IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday

March 17, 2025, I asked TurboTax Deluxe to download my broker info for 2025 (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, etc.). TT went through the motions, I entered my I.d. and password for my broker and then it stopped at a screen where I had to click the word MORE. I tried and tried and nothing would happen so after 10 minutes I decided to minimize the screen to see if Norton was running something in the background. When I minimized the screen, lo and behold under it was a screen showing my broker’s 2025 Combined 1099 with three dollar amounts for: INT, DIV, and I forget the third. I clicked to download everything. I immediately switched to Forms to see if the broker had downloaded my 1099-R that I received a month ago and already entered and yup, the broker filled in the 1099-R FORM and my identical one was also there. I deleted the duplicate. What is horrifying is that each FORM filled in from that Broker download (about 10) has the red ❓next to it meaning something is wrong or missing.  Last week I downloaded my two accounts from Edward Jones and every one of those has a red ❓next to the Form, too.  In six years this has never happened. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi, I recently got married last year and will be filing taxes for the first time as a married person. My Spouse and I are residents of two community property states (CA and AZ). What would be the general rules to follow when filing the return? Would we still file it jointly or separately? For some context, the CA income is significantly higher than the AZ income, which makes filing jointly federally good, I would imagine. Is there something to keep in mind when filing the state returns, mainly to make sure that the incomes are not double-taxed?
Please select in my 2025 tax return payment method as from refund

First, be sure you successfully filed, and if efiled, that it was accepted.  Go to the Tax Home and look at the efile status.  Does it say accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?   You don't have to "log in" to an online account on the IRS website to use the IRS refund lookup tool.   It it was accepted (or if you mailed the return), use the IRS "Where's My Refund" lookup tool at this website: https://www.irs.gov/refunds   NOTE:  If you printed and mailed the return, it can take at least 4 weeks just to show up in that IRS tool.   To use that tool, you will need to enter the correct tax year, your filing status, your SSN, and the Federal refund amount from your Federal 1040, Line 35a.       For the refund amount don't use a summary figure that TurboTax might have showed you that uses a sum of the Federal and state.   Look at your actual Federal return to get the figure from Form 1040, Line 35a.

Why did you mention a check?   The "Up to 5 days early" offer requires direct deposit.   Only if a direct deposit fails is a check issued.   What is displayed at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool? https://www.irs.gov/refunds Has the IRS sent your refund?   Did you pay a $35 fee for the "Up to 5 days early" refund option to go to your own bank account?   The "up to" means it can be anywhere between 1-5 days.         Or did you choose the free option to get the early refund option in a Credit Karma MoneySpend account?         If you chose the method with a fee, TurboTax says that if the refund doesn't come at least 1 day earlier than it would have if it had come directly from the IRS itself, then the $35 fee won't be charged.   FAQ:  Up to 5 Days Early  Refund Offer https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund-advance/turbotaxs-five-days-early-refund-delivery-options/L9U8ngZlH_US_en_US
